Side Story 7: It’s a Family Affair (I)
Come to think of it, it had been about twenty years since the cries of babies stopped in the Feyenoord imperial family. There were unexpected accidents, and the original imperials were rare and tended to have a short lifespan.
The former emperor was still loud and active; he was a special case. His younger sister, who was Roderick’s mother, also died before she turned 60-years-old.
Twins in such a family.
Still, the fate of the country depended on the Feyenoord imperial family’s terraformer lineage. The news of the twins transcended differences in positions and views, and became a celebration for everyone.
Even Marquis Septima, the center of the old aristocratic faction, did not object to the imperial declaration that the day when the twins’ existence was first announced to the world should be set as a national holiday.
No, it wasn’t just that he didn’t object, he even raised the opinion that it would be better to also designate the day of the descendents’ birth as a national holiday.
Considering the reaction of Marquis Septima, who flinched at the mention of Sienna’s name and avoided her, was at that level, the reaction of the rest of the people who were kind to her was to the extent that there was no need to explain.
The glory of the empire, the two suns rising in the sky, proof that God was protecting Feyenoord… In the midst of the celebrations pouring in every day, the corner of the former emperor’s mouth was soaring sky-high.
Among the attendants, there was even a joke that if you hear an unknown laugh somewhere in the palace, don’t be surprised because it’s the empress’ laughter.
One day, the empress called Sienna and Ashiel, asking if they had thought of the names of the children who were in their mother’s womb for less than three months. When asked why, she answered that she wanted to give each of the twins one of her privately owned safes and needed their names for the transfer contract.
In such cases, the empress would usually take the initiative, pouring words like cold water, such as, “What is the imperial crown? Can’t I do what I like?” Sienna stared at her strangely quiet mother.
With a serious expression, the empress spoke to Marquis Weeken, who was in charge of managing the palace.
“Can you cut down the decanto tree in the imperial garden? I want to make a crib out of it.”
“What? You want to cut the symbol of the imperial palace and make a cradle?”
“My hands are bored because I have no work to do. I want to try making one myself.”
“Yourself?”
It was such a shock that no one couldn’t even start to think of how to stop her.
However, the stubbornness of the empress was something that even the former emperor could not break. No one dared to oppose when she clicked her tongue and said, “If it is the cradle of our imperial descendents, the material should be at that level.”
Seeing the trees which took years to grow being cut down in vain, Sienna wondered if this fever of celebration and joy was flowing in a somewhat frenzied direction, but there was no way to stop it, so she had no choice but to keep her mouth shut.
And, to be honest, even if she had opened her mouth, everyone would ignore it for they were busy running wild.
Perhaps the fortunate thing was that Ashiel did not join the procession of unbridled horses.
