"Sup Valdez!" You yell, skipping over to your best friend who was balancing on the edge of the lake.

"Hey Emma!" He grinned, turning round to face you.

"What are you doing?" You asked, watching him eye the water suspiciously.

"I'm supposed to be canoeing but er... As Supreme Fire Lord, water and I tend to have a mutual agreement to keep to ourselves..." He joked, laughing nervously.

"Oh Supreme Fire Lord now are you? What happened to Repair Boy?" You laughed, punching his shoulder playfully. He chuckled and ran a hand through his hair. Dam he looked good when he did that.

"But seriously... Your best friend is a daughter of Poseidon..." You deadpanned. "Surely you know it's inevitable!"

"What's inevitable?" He asked, furrowing his eyebrows in confusion.

"This!" You laughed cheekily, giving him an almighty push with one hand, the other on your waist.

Unfortunately, Leo's reflexes got the better of you and as he fell he grabbed your outstretched hand so you were pulled in after him.

With a shriek, you both hit the water with a smack. Leo still had hold of your arm as you sank into the murky depths.

"Haha you idiot..." You gurgled, taking a deep breath, watching him sink further.

His eyes widened as he flailed about and eventually you rolled your eyes, grabbing his waist and dragging him upwards.

Once your heads broke the surface, Leo took a huge intake of breath, shaking his wet hair like a dog.

"There you go my damsel in distress." You said, flopping down on the sand, completely dry as he crawled up beside you soaked to the skin.

"Oh shut up," He grumbled.

You sat beside each other in a few moments of silence. You loved Leo's company. You'd had a crush on him since the day he'd showed up at camp. You'd been distressed because Percy had been used for Hera's exchange programme but seeing the dorky, awkward curly haired Latino had immediately made you smile and he'd been by your side ever since.

You could see Percy and Annabeth walking up the pier, no doubt coming back from taking a swim.

Suddenly you felt a pair of eyes watching you. You turned to see that Leo was looking at you, clearly fascinated by something.

"Leo?" You asked, noticing how close you appeared to be getting.

"Mhm," He replied, his eyes travelling to your lips.

"Is everything oka-"

You were cut off by his lips on yours. You closed your eyes, completely lost in the moment. The whole world melted away as you leaned closer to him. Oh the sweet bliss.

You could have stayed there forever. Just you and Leo. Nothing else mattered. But of course, your obnoxious brother had to ruin it.

"Hey!" Percy yelled. "Emma! What the Hades do you think you're doing?!"

This shocked you into pulling apart, disorientated and slightly light headed.

"Percy, stop!" Annabeth tried to yell.

Percy ignored her as he stormed towards you and Leo. Leo also looked a little disoriented but Percy's face was so full of rage, it shocked him to his feet.
