•Chapter 18•

As days continued to pass, it seemed as though the entire world seemed to know about Billy and Rebecca's situation. It had gotten to the point of where Claire was getting emails about interviews in the national news. Although, it was obvious that both Billy and Rebecca were nervous about an interview. Especially when it comes to live TV. As far as the both of them knew, the deal was that they would stay safe in the comforts of their own home during this ordeal. But.. if it was going well, this seemed to be the next step in the matter.

Claire sighed, closing her laptop while she sat across from Billy and Rebecca. "Well, you both. The choice is yours. We can go on TV. Then, people would see you both in action. More than just a video on the internet. Then they would also be asking more questions that might lead us into the direction of finally getting a trial. The more people see it, the more help we might get. It's risky, but... ultimately, the choice is yours.." she told them.

"You're right." Rebecca said.. frowning and taking Billy's hand in her own. "I think we're just worried about showing our faces in public. God knows how well that went when people started taking those photos of me in public." Rebecca whispered.

Billy squeezed her hand, looking at Claire. "Right. How do we know I won't just immediately be taken into custody? I was on death row back then. What if they try to bring me back there?" His eyes flickered towards Rebecca. He couldn't leave her.

"That was my main concern as well..." Claire set her chin in the palm of her hand. "That certainly would be a problem. But, wouldn't there be some form of protection if we're going for an interview they asked for?" She questioned.

"Maybe, but it wouldn't hurt to be overly cautious when my life is physically in their hands." Billy retorted. "I'm not willing to risk my life. I'm not willing to be separated from Rebecca."

Rebecca perked up when she heard her name, slowly turning her head to look at Billy. It looked as though she wanted to say something.. but no sound came out when she opened her mouth. Her head fell again as her lips closed, her forehead coming down and resting against the side of Billy's arm, right against his shoulder while she let out a small sigh of defeat. She was anxious. This was a clear sign of that. As if Billy knew what she wanted, his arm wrapped around her, and she was pulled against his side. Immediately, she seemed to cling to his form.

"Hold on. I have an idea." Suddenly, Claire stood up, taking her phone off her belt and opening it up.

"Huh? What is it?" Rebecca asked softly, eyes making their way to Claire. Billy also looked up with intrigue.

"What if I got my brother to come up this way? He's a tough guy. He doesn't work with S.TA.R.S anymore obviously... but he actually works with an association to protect against bioterrorism in this world. It's called the BSAA. Or.. Bioterrorism Security Assessment Alliance. He's helping train his daughter to become part of it too." Claire explained.

"Hold on, Chris has a daughter now?" Rebecca asked, raising an eyebrow. "That timeline would not match if-.." Rebecca was cut off by Claire.

"Don't get too ahead of yourself! It's sort of similar to how Leon and I adopted Sherry. Genevieve and Sherry are actually the same age... Oh, right. Genevieve is his daughter's name. It's a long story with how we all came together... but I'll just say Genevieve was left an orphan. She seemed to attach to Chris after everything we went through as well." Claire smiled. "So, we've got two new Redfields it seems.. Sherry and Genevieve." She couldn't help but chuckle.

"Oh!" Rebecca's face reddened slightly with embarrassment. "Right, that would make a lot more sense. But.. you're saying Chris could be like a bodyguard to us?" She questioned.

"Exactly. If you both have not only Chris.. but Leon by your sides as well.. You guys will be untouchable! How about it? You could meet Leon's and my daughter too."
