A jerk, that's what he was. The night before, once out of the bathroom, he wanted to tell him gently that it was just an exception, that it would not be repeated and hoped he didn't take it too seriously.

Instead he had come out spitting a lot of shit at him with a coldness and a detachment that made him disgusted himself.

Hearing the faint but firm voice with which Taehyung had greeted him like he did every fucking night before leaving the offices had hurt. Almost as much as the hurt and pained look he'd caught in his eyes just before turning away from him so as not to be forced to see again the disappointment he'd caused him and immediately take back everything he'd said.

And now he was paying the consequences.

Taehyung had been professional and impeccable all morning as always, he had carried out his duties to perfection. He had taken notes throughout the mid-morning meeting, entered data for a transaction into the pc for an hour or so, rearranged appointments due to a missed meeting with a lender, and filed some important paperwork, after submitting them to him and having them signed.

But never, not even for a moment, Taehyung had looked into his eyes.

At first it was he himself who avoided Tae's gaze because he felt uncomfortable with the way he had behaved. But he had realized after a while that it was absolutely not necessary, since his secretary had not the slightest intention of looking him in the face.

And now he stood there, standing in the doorway of his business partner and best friend's office, watching the eldest one laugh and joke with Jimin like they were old friends. Since when have these two bonded like this? he wondered, clenching his fists in annoyance.

He didn't know whether to them or to himself since he had no right to make claims on either of them.

The first to notice him was Jimin "Hey Kookie, how are you doing? What are you doing standing there at the door? Come in!"

Jungkook saw his secretary's back stiffen as he felt his low, warm laughter quickly fade away.

Taehyung didn't even turn to look at him.

The Ceo took a deep breath and entered the room "What are you doing Minie, are you eating at the office today? Yoongi hyung doesn't take you out?" It was a consolidated habit between the two since, now three years ago, they had finally got together after ages of senseless push and pull. Yoongi worked in the same skyscraper seven floors up and hardly a day went by that whoever was less busy between the two reached the other so they could be together at least during the lunch break.

"Taehyung and I had something important to talk about so I told Yoonie we'd skip it for today."

The sense of annoyance that Jungkook had been feeling all morning and which had already increased significantly since his arrival in that office, had just reached dangerously high levels.

"Oh really, huh? -his tone became involuntarily venomous as he addressed Taehyung- And what is it you had to talk to Jimin about?"

The brown slowly turned in his direction fixing his gaze at his chest, still refusing to meet his eyes. He slowly approached Jungkook and when he was one step away he looked up, staring into his eyes, with a coldness that made the raven bitterly regret having wanted Tae to look at him again. "This doesn't concern you Mr. Jeon, am I right?" he spat out, with a detachment and disinterest that made Jungkook freeze in place, just before walking around him and then out of the room with a gentle "Thank you very much Jimin hyung, see you later." addressed to his friend.

Jungkook's hands were shaking, clenched at his sides. He slowly turned three-quarters towards his best friend who was looking at him curiously "Jungkook are you sure you don't have to tell me anything?"
