It felt quite refreshing to be somewhere else and also to meet new, different people. This was the first time I met Dev's parents. They are very sweet and joyful human beings. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree. Dev has their characteristics. And I have to say, Mrs. Malhotra's cooking is amazing. I never had such a delicious lunch in my entire life.

"I have to compliment your cooking, Mrs. Malhotra. Really tasty.", I say with a smile.

She looked at me and chuckled.

"Oh Maya sweetheart, I'm glad to hear that you like the food, but you should be complimenting Dev, he made all of this.", she retorted and my eyes are wide.

I look at Dev, who was clearly blushing. While I'm still in shock. How many hidden talents does this guy have? I guess there is more to him than I already know of.

"Is there anything else you're hiding from me, Mr. Dev Malhotra?", I smirk at him as he rolled his eyes.

"Yes, but I'll tell you when the right time comes.", Dev replies.

When the right time comes? What could he mean by that? He didn't look at me after that. Dev can be quite mysterious.

Lunch was great and unfortunately over. I had to go back home now, as Vikram's daily jogging also took an end. Dev dragged me outside to their large garden and sat down with me on their Hollywood-Swing.

"You can chill with me here, till Vik comes."

Dev likes calling Vikram, "Vik" despite Vikram not knowing Dev well at all. My friend here though knows everything.

I just nod and breathe in the fresh air. This silence is making me realise how tired I am from studying and reading. Dev starts chuckling.

"You know, you can rest your head on my shoulder Maya."

"Excuse me?", I ask.

Dev himself made me rest my head on his shoulder, as he instructed me to be silent and listen to the birds chirping and singing.
Defeated, I do as he says.

I can't wait till university starts again! It will be so fun and refreshing and most importantly, far far away from my brothers and my parents.

The doorbell rings and I know it's Vikram. Dev made a face and I have to keep myself from giggling. Mrs. Malhotra comes out to the garden smiling at me.

"Your brother Vikram is here, seems like it's time for you to go.", she says.

I nod and stand up, so does Dev. I look at him and he gave me a tight squeeze.

"We've to do this often.", he said.

"You know very well, that won't work all the time."

He pouts, but I playfully shove him away. I give a hug to Mrs. Malhotra and hurriedly rush out to Vikram. He stood there narrowing his eyes at me.

"How was lunch?"

"How was your jogging?", I ignore and retort.

He rolled his eyes, but I don't care. All I know is that father will question us, as we are gonna return home late. I do hope this duffer keeps his mouth shut. If he blurts out anything, that will give father an excuse for locking me up at home and grounding me. He'll start assuming that, I've been going to university, just to flirt and get a boyfriend.
