Chapter 4

Mr. Mathews POV

I saw Felix kiss Anna and it sent rage through me. He overpowered the serum we gave him. He's too strong. But maybe Anna isn't. Maybe she'll give in and a monster will be created. No love is allowed in The Academy for Assassins. If there is love, we destroy it.

Anna's POV

Felix's kiss felt so good. Our lips moved in sync. I never wanted it to end. I wanted to stay here forever, our lips touching, sending sparks through us. I felt it and I knew Felix felt it to. True love was soaring through our veins. I felt Felix break away and he started to blush. I did as well and I looked down. The cell door opened and Mr. Mathews stood in the doorway. I started shaking and I buried my head in Felix's chest.

"What do you want Mr. Mathews?" Felix asked, his voice like stone.

"I want Anna."

"You won't have her, you almost killed her last time."

"You know the rules Felix. Remember what happened last time?"

Felix's POV

He was talking about Rebecca. The one love I had before I had Anna. Love can't exist in the academy. If it is there, it is destroyed. I held onto Anna and told her it would be ok. She couldn't stand so I picked her up and Mr. Mathews took her and took her out into the hallway and shut the cell door.

Anna's POV

I didn't want Mr. Mathews in front of me. I hated him. He carried me to a room with a machine and a chair and TV in it. He used a ray of some sort to repair my back. I stood up and went to sit in the chair. They gave me this sour smelling liquid and made me drink it. It tasted horrible and it made me gag. It made me feel a hatred for Felix. I wanted to kill him. All of me wanted to kill him. They showed me videos of him with other girls and that made my anger grow more than I thought it could. I was so mad. I stood up and flipped the chair and punched the TV, shattering the screen everywhere. Mr. Mathews led me to the cell, where Felix looked at me with hope, because I was walking, and then fear because I was becoming a monster. I growled at him, his hands up for surrender. I smiled as I tackled him.

Felix's POV

Anna walked through the door, walking. I smiled at her because she was walking again. Then she growled and I knew what was happening to her. She was becoming what I was. They gave her the serum and it's taking over her because she isn't strong enough to resist it. I put my hands up to surrender but a devilish smile appeared on her lips as she tackled me. She started clawing at me but I pushed her up but she still pinned me down. This wasn't the girl I loved, she was too deep inside to notice what this other Anna was doing to me. I pushed her up as far as I could before giving up to her new strength, which was stronger than mine. She ripped my shirt and clawed my face, leaving a scratch across my eye. I pushed her across the room and I got up, clutching my chest, which was bleeding and it hurt badly. She can't give into it. If it's true love, she can break out of it with me kissing her or showing her a huge sign of affection. She grabbed a bench and ripped it out of the concrete wall and threw it at me. It hit me and sent me flying across the room, almost knocking me unconscious. I couldn't get up. I saw the guard by the door with the button. I had to get it to get Anna back to normal. I punched her as hard as I could and ran to the door. I hit the guard with my elbow and grabbed the button and pushed it. Anna collapsed and started groaning. I couldn't stand anymore. I collapsed and let the darkness take me as Anna looked over at me and yelled my name, which was heard as a distant echo.

Anna's POV

"Felix!" His chest was cut open and he had a scratch across his eye. The cell was destroyed. They tried to make me kill him. As far as I knew, Felix was dead. I limped over there to where he was. I took his pulse. He was barely alive. There was a secret door on the other side of the cell. I dragged him to where it was and I opened it. We were going to get out of here. Even if we both died along the way.

Mr. Mathews POV

Anna killed Felix. No more love. I smiled as she cried over him. But if they really want to be together, Anna would have to die, and I have a secret that would kill her on contact.
