xiao's house was gigantic. it was also really clean and organized. the absolute opposite of venti's house. which was a complete disaster. but that wasn't important. xiao was so fucking attractive. like.. model attractive. he had dark green hair, parts of it being lighter. although he was slightly shorter than venti, he had a nice figure. his face was pale, it was soft-looking and fully clean.
"your parents are rich right? why is it that you of all people are babysitting?" xiao raises his eyebrow.
"because theyre annoying and refuses to give me any until i 'work' for it." venti huffs, "i get it- theyre preparing me. but dont they realise that it's going a little too far..?"
"a little?"
"okay. a lot."
xiao laughs softly, venti felt his heart flutter pathetically. he gulps.
"why are- why are you going to china?" shit. he accidentally stuttered. venti desperately just wanted to fall into a hole. right then and there.
"oh. it's to do with some model.. stuff.. they wanted me to do a photoshoot so i guess i'm going."
so he is a model. well. not that venti was surprised. if venti looked as perfect as xiao, he would want to show his looks off too.
"right."
a knock on xiao's door caused both of them to look over. xiao stands up.
"that must be qiqi.. i'll be back. then i can introduce you to her."
"alright."
venti waited on the couch, his heart beating hardly. thoughts rushed to his head, time much slower then it actually should be. he laid back, nervously glancing around. why the hell was he so scared? his thoughts came to an abrupt stop when he saw a small frail looking girl with purple hair standing in the door way. she was smiling tiredly, waving at him. venti waves back, sharing a smile. xiao held her hand gently. it was really cute actually.
"qiqi, this is venti. the man who will be taking care of you for the next three weeks. be good for him, kay?" xiao says, ruffling her hair.
"hi qiqi!" venti exclaims, she was so cute. maybe this wouldn't be so bad actuall-
"i thought you said he would be a boy? is that not a girl?"
never mind. venti takes back everything he says about this little girl. 'cute'? more like the actual fucking devil.
xiao presses his hand up to his mouth, muffling his laughter.
xiao snorts. "no qiqi. thats a boy. you just think he's a girl because of the braids he's wearing. maybe you shouldn't say those things right infront of him."
venti pouts slightly, but still musters up a slight smirk.
"isn't this gonna be interesting."
_
qiqi sobbed softly at the sight of her brother leaving the door.
"don't cry qiqi.. it's just three weeks.." xiao says softly, rubbing her tears away with his thumb.
this did not reassure her at all, however. she pulled her brother into a tight hug, placing her face into his shoulder as he was crouching down. xiao played with her hair.
"i'll be back. i promise, plus. you have venti don't you..?"
"but i want you to be here!" qiqi hides her face in her palms, pulling away from the hug. her face was wet with tears.
xiao furrows his eyebrows. "qiqi.." he looks at venti silently, practically begging for help.
venti looks awkwardly at the pair, leaning on the door frame. he walks over to qiqi, stroking her back.
"um.. he'll be back.." venti says, awkwardly. his face twisting bitterly at his own words.
xiao stares at venti, he probably heard the pure confusion in his voice.
it took them another ten minutes to get qiqi to calm down. she was now lying down in her bed, as if she didn't just spend ten minutes sobbing hysterically.
"are you.. sure you can do this?" xiao asks, concerned.
"um. i think it's a little too late to be asking that." venti responds, smiling sheepishly.
"i mean.. i hope so."xiao smiles. "thats good enough.. just have alot of patience for her. she's a growing kid. theres bound to be alot of things to happen."
venti nods slowly.
"maybe we should go out for a bite after this venti, i mean, that is if you actually survive this house without like.. burning it down or something."
venti's face reddens slightly, maybe from embarassment, maybe from being so flustered. or maybe even both.
"yeah. yeah we should."
_
"he asked me out on a date." venti screamed, well. whispered. but in a screamy way.
"did he really? or are you just delusional." scaramouche questioned, behind him was kazuha, waving at the camera that was basically being shoved into his face.
"are you sure you can do this..? i've met qiqi a couple of times. she can be.. a handful if she doesn't like you." aether said.
"oh my god. im fine. i've babysit a couple of kids when i was like.. fifteen. i'll be fine."
"fifteen?" scaramouche snickers, earning a flick to the forehead from kazuha.
aether sticks his tongue out at his camera, throwing a middle finger at them.
"i'll be fine you guys, i swear."
"it's not you we're worried about venti." kazuha said bluntly, looking up from his phone.
venti pouts, "kazuhaa! whose side are you even on? you keep defending me but attacking me at the same time."
"whichever side wins."
venti groans, planting his face into a pillow. although it was late, he didn't feel tired at all. he glanced over to the alarm clock. '01:37' venti groans again.
"can you be quiet?" scaramouche hissed. "you're gonna wake up both qiqi and heizou. and he's not even in this call."
venti mutters a 'whatever' into this pillow.
"i feel bad for qiqi.. imagine living with you for three whole weeks. she's gonna be traumatised for life." aether teases, holding up three fingers.
venti folds his arms together, scoffing. "shut it aether."
aether hums in reply, sticking his tongue out at venti.
they all sat in silence for a couple of minutes. not an uncomfortable one, just a silence that gave a hint that maybe they should probably end it soon.
"well then. i think this is my time to leave. big day tomorrow. i have to take care of a mini devil."
"bye venti~" they all said in unison.
"bye."
