The park was shockingly empty for being early in the afternoon on such a beautiful day. Stu was swinging beside her as (Y/N) just sat on her swing. (Y/N) always found the sound of birds chirping comforting, and with the squeak of the swing chains- the entire situation was bringing her back to her childhood. Just like middle school, when she and Casey used to come to this very park almost everyday after school.

He puts his feet to the ground to stop himself, making eye contact with the girl for a while before speaking. "You feeling okay?"

"I miss Casey," (Y/N) sighed looking down at her feet, "She has been my best friends for years and I still refuse to believe she was gone."

"Not much of a best friend," Stu mumbled causing (Y/N) to snap her head back up.

"What is that supposed to mean?"

Stu shrugged, "I don't mean anything bad, just that Casey would barely talk to you, I never even knew you two were best friends. I thought you always just hung around her."

(Y/N)'s vision started to blur but she blinked the tears back. She wouldn't let herself get angry over this. "I always hung around her because she was my best friend."

"You're right," Stu replied, turning away, " I just meant like, I always just saw you as a shadow of her. Now that I've spoken to you away from her, I see you as your own person."

"A shadow of Casey?" (Y/N) tried to calm down but she was still pissed. She knew logically that Stu wasn't trying to shade her or Casey, but it felt like it. "So you mean like you with Billy,"

Stu visibly flinched but recovered quickly, standing up from the swing with a smile and reaching his hand out for (Y/N) to take. "Yeah, basically. It's rough to feel like a shadow. Kind of feeling like a second thought."

(Y/N) felt her anger melt away as she grabbed Stu's hand and stood from the swing. He was right. "I guess I never thought about it, but you're right."

"I'm always right."

Right before they walked into the movie store, Stu and (Y/N) met up with Billy. Billy greeted (Y/N) with a charming smile, pulling her into a hug. "How have you been? Did Sidney say anything to you?"

"I haven't spoke to her since this morning. Have you?"

Stu and Billy exchanged a look, and Stu was the one to respond. "He's going to try to make up with her tonight. Makeup and maybe make out." Billy lightly punched Stu's shoulder to shut him up as (Y/N) opened the door to the store, shocked at the amount of people. "Jesus, this place is packed."

(Y/N) followed Stu and Billy in, but they all three split up. (Y/N) went to the new movies, looking through each of them just to see if anything would catch her eye.

"EVERYBODY'S A SUSPECT!" Randy's voice made (Y/N) turn around, seeing everyone else was staring too. Stu was talking to Randy. (Y/N) rolled her eyes and turned back to the movies. She was used to his outbursts, this was nothing new.

After a while of looking and finding nothing worth checking out she turned back around, trotting over to Stu and Randy, and it looked like Billy had joined them. "Hey Randy. You work everyday? You practically live here at this point."

Billy walked away, and (Y/N) met Randy's eyes with confusion. The tension was high and she wasn't sure what she missed. Stu grabbed her hand again, starting walk off, "See ya Randy."

(Y/N) followed Stu as they walked out. "What was that about?"

Stu laughed, letting go of (Y/N)'s hand. "Just Randy being Randy, making morbid comments and theories." There was a few seconds of comfortable silence as they walked back to Stu's car before he spoke again. "I told you Randy was in to you."

"What?"

"Randy," Stu turned to look at her, "I told you he's into you but he's just into Sidney."

(Y/N) swallowed, "Oh." She didn't know why she was so disappointed but she was. Of course she knew Randy had a crush on Sid, but she felt a little disappointed that was it. It's probably because of all the nights they spent just talking and how conversation just flowed naturally. She liked Randy.
