You run to the nearest gas station, and run through the doors panting and out of breath.
"Shut it." A grizzly man behind the counter frowns at you.
"Sorry," you reply, "I wasn't trying to be lou-"
"The door!" He barks.
"Right." You scramble to shut the door before any zombies can get in. At that moment, you see your friend Emily's seventeen year old sister Violet pull into the gas station. She's crying and is filling up the tank of her car, while looking frantically around for zombies. When it's full, she parks her car in the gas station's parking lot, before making her way inside. She pulls her dark brown hair into a messy bun, revealing her tearful light blue eyes.
"You." The man behind the register growls. "As soon as she's in, you get behind here. Understood?"
You nod your head in agreement, let Violet in, take her by the hand, and lead her behind the counter.
"Um," you start slowly, "is Emily with you?"
"Emily's dead." Violet whispers, plastering a stony cold look on her face. "She always had to do what the crowd did, am I right?" She stifles a sob.
"Violet," you start, but never finish your sentence. At that moment, the man taps you on the shoulder with a gun.
"Take it." He huffs. "Here's one for you." He gives Violet a smaller one, and shows us how to use them both. "Harvey." He mutters, while extending his hand.
"Y/n." You reply. "That's Violet." Motioning to Violet.
"I know my name too." Violet wipes her nose, and rolls her eyes. "Violet." She shakes Harvey's hand.
Harvey nods his head, and turns to look out the window. "Shit, Oliver." He mumbles.
Just then, a hoard of five zombies approach, and begin pounding in the glass.
"I'll take care of them, you go to the shed out back!" Harvey yells.
"That shed looks terrifying, no way." Violet scoffs. "I'd rather die to zombies, than to whatever's probably in that shed! Please, y/n, let's hide around the side with the guns. There could be zombies in the shed as well."
"Please trust me!" Harvey shouts, as the first zombie breaks in.
