I walked out of the hallway and into my next class. Drama 101. I must say that I always hated drama, mainly because I was perfermoning arts challenged. My sister, however was an amazing actress and singer. I was always so jealousof her in that aspect. However she never really did anything public. She always stayed in the background or behind the scenes. Today I knew that our school was holding auditions for the play "Romeo and Julliett." Except our version would be a musical. I automatically knew that I wanted to sign up.
"Good afternoon class. Welcombe back to another day of creative idea and exploration. First off, announcements. We will be holding audtions for Romeo and Julliett. Any takers?" Mrs.Klocksworth the drama teacher asked. Cheyennes hand shot up. I dont think so. I raised my hand... Everyone turned around and looked at me. "Laura? Well that's a pleasent surprise. I am very glad to know you are coming out of your shy shell and embrassing your skills and creative talents." We all took a seat in the audatoriom and sat in groups. "Who wants to start us off with an audition?" Cheyene smiled eviley. "I would be honored to Mrs.Klocksworth." She made her way to the stage and started to sing. She belted out in a very good version of break through by Lemonade mouth. I hadn't realized how good she was. I wasn't really sure if it was a good choice to audition.
When she was finished she shot me a "top that" look. I smiled. "Okay Laura you're turn." Mrs. Klocksworth said.
I made my way to the center of the stage and took a deep breath in. "I used to bite my tongue and hold my breath. Scared to rock the boat and make a mess. So I sat quietly, agreed politely..." I belted out katty perry's roar. I looked down at the people in the audience and shot a rude smrk at Cheyene. When I was finished I got a standing novation.... "Topped it." I said when I passed Cheyene. She scoffed and crossed her arms.
