Was I really that important to my baby sister? Wow. I walked along the halls a bit and realized I was crying. Tears had dampened my cheeks. What was I supposed to do? My sister had given me a second chance at life and I couldn't even say thank you now. This was totally fucked up.
I just wanted to cry in her arms. To be able to hear her sing and watch her dance. To have another conversation, another day, another lifetime. But I couldn't. And that's wasn't fair. It wasn't fair how much she had sacrificed for me. And now I can't even tell her how grateful I am for her and all she did.
I slammed my fist into a locker and began to cry as the pain made my whole arm ache. And then all at once I broke. I cried and sobbed. Then I felt a pair of arms wrap around me. "Shh. It's gonna be ok Valorie. I promise." It was Cam. He held me close to his chest and let me sob my mascara all over his shirt. And he didn't complain one time about the mess or the tears.
He just let me cry it out and then he kissed my forehead. This boy was truly and wonderfully in love with Valorie. And I felt horrible for not being her.
