[Take Me or Leave me~ Rent ]
Anya had never been in a car crash before, Sure she had been under the knife way too many times, and yes she had done crazier things, but a full-fledged car crash just wasn't on her list. But boy, that list was long and full of endless questions and possibilities. The car crash in question did two things, A made Anya lose bits of time and her memory, and B crushed Aaron Hotchner's, entire heart.
You see there's this thing called Short term memory loss. Anya Holmes couldn't remember anything that happened from the time they left for the wedding to after, it was all a blur. The doctor chucked it up to shock from the crash and the trauma that resulted in the crash, but all she remembered was Aaron showing up at her door and asking her to go to the wedding, she may never remember the sweet time that she and Aaron shared, she may never remember the beautiful lovemaking or the admittance that Aaron explained how he never hated her, or the tally checklist.
She would never realize just how in love he was with her, he would have to show her that and god knows how long that would be if ever, of course, word spread like wildfire about the crash and soon every member of the BAU was at the hospital at Anya and Aaron's bedside. Aaron made it with a few bumps and that god-awful ringing in his ear again and Anya she had a broken wrist and a few bruises from the airbag and the fact that Aaron used half his body as a human shield for her.
She hated this, knowing there was an entire chunk of time that she had missed and she wanted to know what all happened. She wanted to know how she and the guy she hated, had managed to bring themselves to spend time outside of their work lives on a weekend. A weekend that was spent expressing their love and revealing secrets, none of which Anya would remember at least not right this second.
She would figure it out eventually but what if by that time it was too late? What if by the time she retained all of her memory, he would be someone else's problem? Until then all she could do was go back to her life, pretending not to be in love with her boss and chasing down serial killers.
