A/N: So this story is made up of two people's point of view. Sometimes the whole chapter may be either Jac's or just Ayame's.

Jac’s POV: The girl in red.
I knew it was stupid of me to cry but it had been going on for so long. For a boy, I’m rather wimpy; I can’t even defend myself against the bullies at school. I had told my parents and my teachers, but yet the adults in this world don’t seem to care about me and are to busy with their own lives to even realise that their son/student/friend is suffering. No one was interested or bothered, they were all engrossed in their own problems and inconvenience’s to listen or acknowledge me. I had survived the last few months on a thread but now, that thread had snapped. Since nobody cared or was concerned I was ready to leave this place, to abandon the world itself.
I had turned the last corner and saw the bridge. It was spookily silent, no cars rocketed past and there were no people walking on the side path, talking to their children or on their phones. A bad feeling churned in the bottom of my stomach but I proceeded to the bridge’s edge and gazed down at the dark water. I took a deep breath and climbed over the iron bars and clung onto the edge as I turned around to once again to gaze at my watery grave. Tears streamed down my face again and I didn’t care to stop them. The wind slapped my face as I turned my head to the sky and I closed my eyes. I let go of the edge and pushed myself forwards. Everything seemed to go so slowly and suddenly I regretted my decision and began screaming.
As I plummeted into the icy water I felt something wrap around my waist. I began kicking and scratching but the object clung to me like a magnet. Soon enough my lungs gave out and all my kicking ceased and my body became limp and the cold water filled my insides. I realised now that I didn’t want to die, but I had realised too late and I would never see the sun again.

When I woke up it was still night. I gazed up into the dark cloudy sky and twitched my fingers one by one. “Is this purgatory?” I asked the air in a whisper.
“No, this is Earth,” a voice replied. I wasn’t startled at first but then I realised that I was meant to be dead. I sat up quickly, looking around before placing my eyes onto a girl. She sat on a large stone which was around 8 feet away from where I was sitting. I couldn’t see much of her face or body in the darkness but from her voice she sounded young. “You shouldn’t be falling off bridges at this time of night you know. You’re such a hassle.”
“I didn’t mean to be a hassle. You didn’t have to save me.” I replied, crossing my legs and stared at the floor. The girl began to speak but soon stopped. Silence swarmed around us both for a few minutes.
“I knew you didn’t want to die, so I saved you.”
More silence.
“Where are we can I ask?”
“You asked it, there’s no reason to ask because you asked if before asking,” The girl responded, confusing my instantly. “We’re at my... um... home.” She stood up and strolled over to me, holding one hand out to me. After staring I took her hand and was pulled up. Her hand was cold and sticky so once I stood up I quickly let go. “We’re rather far from the bridge, so maybe far from where you live. Would you like to come in?” Before I could answer, another voice appeared in the conversation.
“Ayame, you’re being awfully nice and especially since you didn’t finish.” I looked up, searching for the person who had spoke but I saw nothing.
“Leave it or you’ll be next,” The girl, Ayame, threatened; her voice suddenly deeper.
“Hey boy, don’t get close to her, she’ll be your death!” the voice shouted before laughing. The wind blew hard for a few seconds before calming down. Unexpectedly, bright ligthts appeared and beamed onto both myself and Ayame. As I looked at Ayame, I stepped back slowly. She had light brown hair which fell over he shoulders and ended just at her waist, she had large muddy green eyes and pale peach skin. She looked like a doll, but the thing that stuck out the most about her was the blood which stained her bare skin and clothes.

Ayame’s POV: He’s a cry baby.
As the lights came on, I saw his eyes swim with fear. I knew that he would see me like this and I was glad that I didn’t have to keep up the facade of a normal person. I stretched out my arms, one hand holding a blood covered baseball bat, the other empty. “Another reason I saved you was because if I didn’t I would of gotten the blame,” I mentioned and turned towards the door. “You should come in or else,” I said as I walked towards the door. After a few minutes I heard him run after me. I opened the front door and let him first before stepping inside and locking the door behind me.
“Why did you lock the door?” He asked panicked. I giggled and stared at him.
“Because it’s the rules,”
“But it was un-locked...”
“Someone opened it.” I snapped and began walking into the room nearest to us. It was a large room; a normal looking room with two large sofas’ and several smaller chairs surrounded a T.V. Book shelves were pressed against the walls and a large double glass door at the back of the room was covered with long silk curtains. I walked towards one of the book shelves and took out a fake book which opened a secret door.
So cliché.
I walked down the stairs, the boy following behind me. “So, what’s you’re name?” I asked, trying to make conversation.
“J-Jac...” He replied nervously. I shook my head and carried on down the stairs without another word. At the bottom of the stairs was a short corridor which led to 3 rooms.
“The door to your left is the weaponry room, the door to your right is the lab and the door straight a head is the Doctor’s office.” I turned around to face him, he had been staring at me from the way he jumped and looked down quickly. “Pick a room,”
“The lab,” He said calmly. I smiled.
“You’re taking this pretty well,” I mentioned, placing one hand onto his shoulder and smirking. I nodded on the lab door and waited for a response.
“Ahh, Ayame. I see you’ve brought a friend.” The door opened showing the Doctor. The doctor was a young man with short brown hair and square glasses. He wore a brown jumper and grey tie with black jeans and a white lab coat. “Come in, come in.” He gestured. I walked in and strolled towards the sink to wash off all blood I could. “You’re probably wondering why Ayame is covered in blood and why there is such a high tech laboratory down here, right?” The doctor asked Jac. There was no response from Jac verbally but the doctor went on.
I decided not to listen in since I knew the whole dilemma and still didn’t want anything to do with it but when the doctor mentioned a new candidate I locked into the conversation.
Jac “I don’t want to live, but I don’t want to die,”
The doctor “I see, what if you were able to fight for the right to live and if you don’t have the will to live, you die?”
Jac “I don’t understand...”
Before the doctor spoke, I jumped in. “You will have to kill for your life.” I put simply. “There are others here in this institute who fight for their right to survive. This is what you could call a survival game.”
“Survival game?” he asked. I could see tears brewing in his eyes as his face flushed.
“You compete with other members to survive.” I said blankly. “Normally, after you’ve seen one us in this state you get killed or pressured into joining. But apparently were giving you the option.” I sighed.
“Yes, but if he refuses we’re going to have to do something about his memories. Maybe a surgery?” The doctor smiled manically, his hands twitching. “Or maybe he could be a new test subject!” He shouted. Jac began to pace backwards, tears streaming down his face. I sighed again and slapped the doctor.
Silence.
“Thank you Ayame.” He turned to Jac. “I won’t do anything to you, I promise. But if you do refuse the M.C.T may have to get involved.
“M.C.T?” Jac asked, calming down.
“Murder cover-up team.”
“Oh...”
“So what do you say? Murder or be murdered... or live the rest of you life in misery?” I asked, holding a hand out towards Jac.
