I hope you genuinely enjoy this book, it's the first one I've written hopefully it's good.

**Disclaimer**

So no one is confused in this book terms like shifter and were are used interchangeably to describe the different kinds of weres or shifters in the story, sometimes I will use the term shifter and other times I will use terms like werewolf or werefox, depends on which term would most appropriately fit.

Chapter 1

Olivia didn't know much about herself, just a few facts. She knew that she was different, very different from every other werewolf in her pack. Her forest green eyes and mocha skin were indicators of that. She knows that she is the (adopted) daughter of an Alpha and she knows that she has some questions about herself that no one in her pack could answer. She knows one fact about her biological mother and two facts about her biological father; her mother is human and her father was a mated wolf from Russia and he wants nothing to do with her. She knows that being 17 is difficult, very difficult more difficult than anyone had ever told her it would be. She also knows that she is in big trouble because she can hear her father racing up the steps to her room.

"Olivia open this door ahora!" Olivia hates it when her father speaks in Spanglish  because he sounded ridiculous and like he was trying to be cool. He only learned English so Olivia and her brother Pedro wouldn't be able to keep secrets from him in English. Olivia rolled her eyes and padded her way to her door, walking as slowly as possible dragging her feet on the shag carpet, dreading the upcoming conversation. "Si Alpha,qué pasó ? Olivia murmured. "qué pasó? You know what happened!" Her father steamed, Olivia tried to stop herself from laughing, but she couldn't help it, her father's face was red and she could picture steam coming from his ears. She let a giggle slip and his eyes bore into her face and she knew she was in a lot of trouble; Olivia clamped her hand over her mouth and bowed her head. Her father accepted her submission and took a seat on Olivia's desk chair while Olivia sat in her window seat. Her father broke the tense silence first "So I got a call from your teacher Ms. Madrigal today, she told me some pretty interesting news about you. She said that you are set to graduate next week. What does she mean next week, you have a whole year to graduate and then go to university?" As he spoke his anger deflated into confusion and concern. Olivia felt bad, because she could see the stress she causes her father. "Papi, I wanted to graduate early, so I could have a year off before uni, without having to start later than my friends, you know un año sabático." Olivia kept her eyes low the entire time she spoke; it is dangerous to look her father in the eyes at the moment it may seem like a challenge. "A sabbatical? You want to go on a sabbatical? For what Olivia, why? Is getting everything you want and being in high school that hard? Is being here that terrible?" She could see the hurt in his eyes as he asked her those questions. "No papi, it's not like that. I just, I just." She couldn't get the words out; she didn't know how to say them. Her father looked at her expectantly. "I just don't know who I am papi, I need to find out who I am. I need to find out who she is to know who I am."

"You need to know who she is. Who's she?" Her father questioned. Olivia suspected that her father knew of the woman she was referring to, because she use to ask questions about this woman all the time when she was a child. "Mi Madre, the woman that gave birth to me. I want to know where is she from, how old was she when I was born, did she know my father was a werewolf, does she have a family now, how did she meet my father. I want to know all of these things, and I need to go find her because she is the only one that can answer my questions." Olivia cried. "Oh, it's about your birth parents." Her father said. "Yes father it is, it's not like I don't love the life you have given me, because I do, but I need to get some answers, because it feels like a piece of me is missing. A huge part of my identity is a question mark. And I just want to know what belongs there. Please just let me go."  Olivia looked around her room and took in everything trying her hardest not to cry, she took in her queen size four poster bed with its white and lilac curtains, she took in her sleek and modern desk and book shelf, filled with all her favorite books. Her wall to the left was composed of nothing but pictures of her friends and family. Her large walk in closet and the arm chair next to the fire place. She thought of how lucky she was to be adopted into a family that could give her anything she ever needed or wanted. But all of this stuff that she has cannot fill the void she has  in her heart. Olivia's father got up and left the room, he needed some air and time to think about what she just asked him, he needed to discuss this with his mate, his Luna. She would know what to do. When her father closed the door, Olivia broke into tears followed by a silent sob, this was draining. She had said her piece and hopefully her parents would understand and left her go find her mother.

Chapter 2

"Olivia wait up!" Olivia turned around to see Janet jogging down the hall, her red curls bouncing as she ran to catch up with her. Olivia couldn't help but smile as she watched her friend; Janet is 17 just like Olivia but has a baby face and doesn't look over the age of 12. Her round face and freckles make her look very young. Janet is Irish, but her father is a businessman in Southern Spain, in the same town Olivia lives in. Janet moved there when she was 6 years old, she and Olivia have been best friends ever since primary school. Olivia chuckled to herself as she thought of their first encounter, she remembered being in class and seeing Janet for the first time. Never in her life has she seen hair like that, so bright and fiery. Janet took the seat behind Olivia and when it came to arts and craft time they were partnered up, the assignment was for them to make portraits of each other. Olivia came up with the genius idea of using each others actual hair and then gluing it to the paper. So they got the scissors out and began to cut their hair, by the end of class they were both sporting terrible haircuts and their parents were called. They became instant best friends and partners in crime after that.

"So what happened, you never texted me back." Janet complained while she and Olivia walked to their first class together. "Yea, I am sorry about that, Ms.Madrigal called my dad and told him about my early graduation. He totally blew up and got mad at me. He hasn't really given me an answer, he just kind of avoids me" Olivia said as she looked at her phone to see the new text she got. "Oh bummer, well maybe he gonna say yes, but he doesn't want to say it yet. I can't say I would be all that upset if he said no, because that would mean we could finish high school together!" Janet smiled at Olivia hoping to get a smile back, but Olivia was too focused on the text message she was reading to look up and respond. "Helllloooo earth to Olivia" Janet said as she waved her hand in front of Olivia's face. "Oh sorry, I just got an ominous text from my mother simply stating 'We have to talk after school, come straight home' weird huh?" Olivia pushed the phone into Janet's face to show her the text. "Yeah it's weird alright, did you happen to do the worksheet for advanced bio?" Janet asked while stepping in front of Olivia, before she could grab the doorknob to their advanced English class. Olivia smiled and handed Janet her biology notebook and said "here copy cat"."Thanks wolf girl." Janet winked at Olivia, and Olivia retorted with "No problem fox girl".

**** You're probably wondering, A) how is she graduating early?  B) why is she still going to school if she graduating early? Here are the answers just couldn't find a a way to put them creatively in the story. A) she is in her senior year but is super smart and has been taking advance courses and summer courses, essentially she skipped a grade by earning all the credits she needs to graduate early on. B) mostly like because all her friends are in school and to keep up the rouse of going to school to her parents, so she can plan her request to leave and find her birth mother.
