Chapter 3
"Mami, Papi, I'm home" Olivia said as she entered the pack house, she didn't have to scream with her parents being werewolves and all. She was nervous and jumped when her mother shouted that she was out back in the garden. Olivia made her way to the garden, when she got there, she had to shield her eyes from the Spanish sun that was magnified by the pool. Her mother was tending to the garden and her father was swimming in the pool. Her mother shielded her eyes and took a look at who was blocking her sunlight, and smiled when she saw it was Olivia. "Good you're here" her mother beamed and stood up and walked to the pool to get her husband's attention. "Liv is here cariño, get out and get toweled off." She told her husband and went about removing her gardening gloves and tidying herself up. Ignoring her instructions Ricardo gathered his wife into his arms still soaking wet from the pool and nuzzled her neck and emitting a low growl. Olivia spoke up because seeing her parents getting affectionate with one another grossed her out, "I can come back later if you guys want to be alone." She started to back away because it seemed like no one had heard her, since they continued to cuddle each other and snuggle in front of her. "No it's, okay I just sometimes can't help myself around this woman." Her father explained as he lifted his head from the nook of her mother's neck. And they both straightened up and started walking towards the patio and out of the blinding sun. Looking at her parents as they settled into their seats, Olivia couldn't' t help but notice how much they looked like each other, their eyes were both large and brown and they had similar worry and laugh lines on their faces. She thought to herself you would look like your mate too if you had been with him for 100 years. Olivia's parents shared the same expressionless look as they began to talk. Her father the Alpha spoke first.
"We have discussed this to the point of exhaustion and after much deliberation we have decided..." Her father paused after dragging out his words; Olivia leaned forward in her seat almost tipping her chair over in the process. He mother interrupted by elbowing her father in the ribs and said " For God's sake Ricardo, just tell the girl already, she is about to fall out her seat waiting for an answer." Her mother said as she smirked at Olivia's father. "We are going to let you go search for your mother." Her mother interjected, not being able to contain herself. Olivia sat back in her chair, surprised with a huge grin on her face feeling satisfied, she thought for sure she would have to run away to find her mom. She was making plans in her head when her father interrupted "I want you to wait until you graduate from university and find a mate." Instantly her grin turned into a frown and she opened her mouth to protest but was cut off once more by her father. "But your mother assured me you would probably have gone insane by then and runaway and I don't want that." Her father paused and Olivia shot her mother a thankful glance and mouthed thank you. Her father continued and Olivia's ears perked up because he would announce her departure date "You can leave in three weeks after the full moon...." He wasn't able to finish his sentence because Olivia tackled him with a hug. And she jumped up and kissed his cheek singing "thank you, thank you, thank you" and she began to dance away. Three little words that her father uttered stopped her dancing and made Olivia turn back to her parents. "On one condition....."
Chapter 4
Olivia walked through the halls of her high school scenting out the different shifters in search of Janet. Olivia's high school was situated in a neutral area where none of the Alpha shifters had authority. It was on human land and humans did attend her school along with all different types of shifters. At her school Olivia had, foxes, wolves, bears, cats, horses and many other large or predatory animal shifters. They all coexisted peacefully because they mostly lived human lives, they had territories throughout the land and an Alpha for each territory, but for the most part it was all good.
Olivia found and followed Janet's scent of ginger, cinnamon, and spring down the hall and found the girl flirting with another werefox, named Kyle he is also a import from Ireland. A lot of the Shifters in Olivia's school were not from Spain, most of their families moved here and to other similar multiple shifter communities throughout Spain and Europe to protect their families from the rogues. The rogues forgot what it meant to be a part of a pack or human, and they often attacked humans, turning and killing more and more people leaving messes behind for the Alphas to clean up. In communities like Olivia's the kidnapping of unmated females and turning of humans by rouges is less prevalent, they tried to stay away from the communities because it is more likely they would be caught .
Janet spotted Olivia over Kyle's shoulder and smiled at her, ending her conversation with Kyle and walking over to Olivia. "So any good news, I see that you're smiling like crazy?" Janet questioned as she linked arms with Olivia. Olivia patted Janet's arm and put on her saddest face, and tried not to giggle as Janet's face changed from happy to sad and confused. Olivia couldn't hold it anymore and she giggled and turned so that she was facing Janet, and said "just kidding they said I can leave after the full moon!" "Oh wow really? That is so awesome; I wish my parents would let me go with you. Are you going to be okay all alone?" Janet inquired. Olivia's face got serious "I won't actually be alone; one of the conditions of my trip was that I take an enforcer with me, you know to protect me from rouges and the like." "Really which one, is it hot Carlos?" Janet's eyes got wide as she questioned Olivia. Olivia laughed "no it's not hot Carlos I wish it was hot Carlos, it's hot but takes his job too seriously Juan." "Awww bummer, hot Carlos would be a lot of fun on the road, but I guess hot but takes his job to seriously Juan will do, he will give you something pretty to look at." Janet laughed and it made Olivia smile.
They continued to walk towards the lunch room where they had lunch every day since their freshmen year, with their arms linked they made their way to their table in the middle of the cafeteria. "So where are you going to start? what's your plan?" Janet asked as they took their usual seats opposite from each other. "Well my parents gave me this" Olivia said as she reached into her bag and took out an old photograph. The photograph was of a young woman, about Olivia's complexion and she had the same shaped eyes and nose as Olivia. She was pregnant and holding her stomach, she looked happy. Her raven black hair was spread out all around her and it was down to her elbows just like Olivia. The only difference was that Olivia had forest green eyes and her chin was a little pointier than her mother's, but other than that they were identical. "She's my mother; they said this picture was wrapped up in my blanket with me when I was found. On the back it says, 'My darling Olivia and I Paris August 1993' that photo was taken like two months before I was born. You can see the name of the cafe she was sitting at in the background. I am going to start there." Olivia explained as Janet observed the photo with her mouth open. "Olivia she looks just like you oh my God! This is crazy! Wow Paris! I am so happy for you. You think she is from there?" Janet said excitedly. "No it was written in English so I think she was just visiting some places before she had me." Olivia explained. "Wow this is so awesome; promise me that you will call me every day!" Janet screamed. "I will I promise!" Olivia screamed back.
*** You are probably wondering how is she born in 1993 but is still 17 when it is 2018. I started writing this in 2010, and I am going to keep writing this story as if it takes place in 2010.
