3 HOURS AFTER THE APPREHENSION OF THE SCOUTS

Relief and even more confusion as well as concern were all that was felt by the officers. Not because the prisoners were non-compliant, not that they were in the first place anyway, but because Major Kyle was right. Medieval-era inhabitants and uses of magic were present and so were fantasy creatures like ogres, goblins, demi humans, and honest-to-God dragons. How they got this much intel you might ask? Well, 2 of the scouts managed to slip out some information with the goal of scaring them which didn't work. But the other one? Well, he might as well need a check up and a change of pants. He was unexpectedly so scared of them that he literally ended up giving them way more information than they expected to get.

The information they got from the scout was unfathomable. The amount of cities, their strengths and weaknesses, as well as the Kingdoms present and a bit of their cultural beliefs. The area they were on is supposedly empty and uninhabited despite its condition. They were still concerned about sending out drones until Kyle claimed that Wyverns, which are smaller dragons and two-legged can only fly a few hundred meters while the drones can obviously go beyond said Wyverns' flight range. Still being cautious, however, they agreed to send only one 'Yabhon' and see if Kyle's claim is correct. Given the Yabhon's armament, it could easily blow its way out if the assumptions were wrong. Besides all of that, something bugged Kyle in the meanwhile.

Kyle sat in his new quarters, deep in thought as pondered further into the situation they were currently in. He and his fellow officers had no clue how they even ended up here, but they sure as hell know they're not coming home sooner or later.

"How exactly are we gonna goddamn survive here...?" I uttered out, the ticking of the clock on the wall becoming louder by each passing second.

For the past duration of half an hour, I've been reviewing and re-reading the fantasy stories I used to read when I was younger. Only to finally realize they're all basically the same, In general terms, at least.

Orcs, goblins, demi-humans, dragons, and of course magic was always the setting. Even that JSDF one was the same, except they had literal underage 'lolis' that are always excused with being over a hundred years old.

All the stories related to that one always had a brass with them as well, we don't even have a Brigadier General here. We also conducted at least one peace talk with the inhabitants, which we probably already jeopardized when we took those scouts. But that always depends if the kingdom the scouts are from are good or bad, of course.

Nevertheless, we'll have to brace for the shitstorm we were forcibly put in.

I was yanked off my train of thoughts when a knock boomed from outside the door of my quarters. I guess the information I requested arrived, or not.

"Come in."

As I said that, the door opened to a regular NATO grunt in off-duty attire. He carried a what looks to be a dossier.

The man began to walk to me and set the dossier on my table and spoke up. "Sir, the information you requested is all in the dossier. We'll have another one sent to you if any other info we deemed valuable is acquired."
