--------------------------------------------------------Chapter One------------------------------------------------------------
I lay motionless on my creaky, single bed. I looked down at my french-manicured nails through my weary, tired eyes.
The news had just been broken to me, the new about the 'Big Move'. I heard a knock at my door,
" Bethany Lola Morrison, start packing now" My mother ordered in a stern voice, " We haven't got much time!". I stared longingly out of my window, the grey skies were something that I would miss when I left the small Island of England to commence our adventure in the City Of Angels, Los Angeles. I suddenly recieved 13 new texts on my iPhone from my school friends.
Steph: Don't Leave
Parker: You will be missed x
Lillie: WHAT?!
I skimmed over the messages, not bothering to reply. It was too much to think about right now.
I finally started to pack;
I took down all of my posters on my walls, I packed up my makeup and I folded up all my clothes and stacked them into my large suitcase. My bedroom looked alien, the walls were bare with only a few Blu-Tack marks to show that I had ever been there.
After packing I climbed into my bed, pulling my duvet over me. I tried to go to sleep but my eyes wouldn't let me, I would have got my MacBook and I would have tried to take my mind off it but that was all in my packing now. I lay there until my eyes just became too tired to stay open and I fell asleep.
I got woken up by a loud chugging sound. I shuffled over to the window only to rest my eyes upon a truck. Five men hopped out of the doors and made their way into the house; a few minutes later I heard the doorbell sound. I ran downstairs shouting
"I'll get it!". As soon as I saw who was on the other side of the door my heart melted. Looking back at me were the bluest eyes I had ever seen.
"Hello, I am Joe from 'Groovin' Movin' and I got a call from your parents?" He said giving me eye contact.
"I w-will j-just go and get them" I felt butterflies in my stomach as I walked up our large staircase and into my parents' room to get them. Suprisingly (NOT) my Dad was still in bed but my Mum was in the shower. What should I do? I decided I would leave them and face the moving men myself. I trotted downstairs and told them the news;
"No problem, do you know where your parents have put the boxes?" Joe asked with a twinkle in his eye.
"I think so" I signalled for the men to follow me and I took them to the door of the cellar, I led them down there turning the light on as I made my way down the cold, stone steps. At the bottom was a large pile of about 80 boxes and the men started picking them up instantly. I sat there on my phone as I watched Joe pick up ?the heavy boxes and lift them up the stairs showing off his arm muscles. As they all got to the top of the stairs and into the entrance hall I heard a few of the men teasing Joe;
"Haha, Joe. Really?" One of them joked "Another girl to show of to your little friends?". I was flattered but disappointed; was he a player just like ALL of the other attractive boys? I thought so. I made my way slowly, and less enthusiastically up the cellar stairs and through the door. Joe blushed as I think he just realised that I had heard him, he looked down at his feet.
They all wore the luminous 'Groovin' Movin' shirts but Joe was wearing some skinny jeans that were slightly pulled down to show the top of his 'Calvin Kleins' and some black vans. I gazed at him but he caught me looking and I quickly looked down at my phone. Later, as the other men starting bubble-wrapping and packing all of the stuff in the living room Joe came up to my room with a box and a black marker pen. He knocked lightly and briskly on my door, I stood up slowly and opened my door; as soon as I saw who was on the other side I grinned widely. He smiled back at me, probably still a bit embarassed about what happened earlier.
