It's a beautiful day outside, the sun is shining, the birds are singing, and even the flowers are blooming. on days like this, kids like you...
should be at school.
"Wake up! You're going to be late!"
Shouting can be heard from downstairs, sounding both impatient and frustrated at the same time. groaning, a kid sits up, eyes still closed as they try to respond to the shouting from downstairs.
Once they opened their eyes, there was something you would never see on a normal day. Right there, at the foot of their bed was a red-tinted humanoid ghost of some kind. Illuminating a faint red glow, the thing looked passed out as it was curled at the edge of this person's bed.
"Kris! Hurry up, you'll be late for school!"
The child, Kris, almost blurted out "What th-"Before silencing themselves, the ghost started to move from the sudden noise, sitting up from its curled position, shining brighter once it was fully awake.
Kris tries to stay silent, not knowing what to do, the ghost has yet to look at them as it looks around the rest of the room, its emotions are hard to read yet show a sense of confusion before the ghost's supposed eyes land directly onto Kris.
First silence, then abrupt noise as both of them simultaneously scream from the shock.
"What's with all the racket up there?!" a woman's voice is heard from downstairs.
Kris stumbles for an answer before shouting "Nothing! Don't worry!" before looking at the red ghost as it stares back at Kris.
Kris calms down "Okay, who are you? and what are you doing in my house?"
The ghost thinks for a bit "I woke up and the next thing I know I'm here" The ghost looks down a bit as the light illuminating it fades "I don't know who I am, but I exist" The ghost slightly shrugs.
Before Kris could ask any more questions they spot the clock on the desk showing that a lot of time has passed, they're going to be beyond late for school at this rate if they waste any more time.
"Okay, enjoy that existential crisis all you want, I have to get going before my mother kills me!"
Kris rushingly gets up and speeds over to the door, before they could get more than two steps forward however there was an audible thud behind them.
"what the...." Kris looks behind them as they see the red ghost, face first, onto the rugged floor.
"huh? But I didn't even move" the ghost said, sitting back up after seemingly being shoved onto the floor.
"uhm" Kris is at pause for words, they don't really know what's happening nor why this creature is on the floor but they're still in a rush so Kris decides to ignore it and goes through the door further.
The ghost falls face first again right when Kris starts to get more distant "What? Hey, stop that!" the spirit yells as it starts to get dragged towards the direction Kris is walking.
Kris snaps their head back at the ghost and upon realizing this creature is somehow attached to them, once Kris is at a distance the ghost seems to be forcefully dragged in the direction where Kris is going.
Kris, now with more issues in their hands, sighs in annoyance
"This is going to be a long day..."
