"Jesus fuck Bear!" Tiger exclaimed frustrated, "The last men obviously would be able to see through that ambush from a mile away!"
The rest of the group looked towards Tiger with surprise at her out burst and then slowly turned their heads back to Bear to see her response.
Bear glared at her from across the table.
"Well if you have any better ideas then let's hear em!" Bear growled.
Tigers face lit up. Finally she thought.
"I actually do." Tiger stated. She walked around the corner of the table and pulled a map towards her. She unfolded it and pointed to a flanking point.
"If we leave out traces of evidence that we've been in the perimeter, and then flank them from behind. It's better than in the trees. They expect us to be there. We could even hide in the leaves and bushes."
The group around her mumbled in agreement.
When Tiger looked up at Bear she could see anger in her eyes staring right back at her.
Bear huffed before ending the staring match.
"You do have a point." Bear finally spoke "They have started to notice our tactic of hiding in the trees."
Tiger genuinely smiled at the compliment.
After the meeting had been rapped up, Tiger was about to head back to her room before she was stopped by a hand on her shoulder. She turned around and saw Bear looking up at her.
"Since your probably just going to sneak off to your room, mind helping me with something?" Bear asked, in a nicer tone than what Tiger would have normally expected.
"Sure." Tiger said simply, "What do you need help with?"
"You'll see." Bear smiled and gestured Tiger to follow her.
They walked out of the meeting room and walked around the corner towards a long hallway.
Tiger wasn't the type to get nervous often however, she couldn't help wonder what Bear had wanted from her.
She walked beside Bear, trying not to get to close to the leader. Though she couldn't help but notice the height difference they shared. Bear was quite a bit smaller than her, even if her attitude made her feel bigger.
Tiger also couldn't help noticing Bears other features. Her hair was curly to the point she almost wanted to wrap her fingers around it just to see what it felt like. Her own hair was straight and longer, which she had liked, but it did feel a bit to long for her tastes.
"Do you have a staring problem Tiger?"
Tiger had suddenly realized from Bears words that she had in fact been staring at her from the corner of her eye as they walked.
She quickly looked ahead before trying to play it off.
"I'm just trying to figure out where you're taking me. For all I know you could be trying to get rid of me because of me showing you up in the meeting." Tiger smiled as she looked back at Bear.
Bear laughed.
"Oh please, I don't want to get rid of you."
Bear looked at Tiger and smiled.
"You seem to have good ideas, even if your attitude could use some help."
Tiger rolled her eyes. "I'll still take that as a compliment."
"Good." Bear said, "Cause I have an offer for you."
Tiger looked at Bear surprised.
"Oh?"
Bear suddenly stopped walking and turned towards a door. She opened it slowly and Tiger saw light emerging. Bear fully opened it and she could see that it lead to an outside balcony, that viewed over the animal army base.
As they walked outside she could see the sun slowly setting amongst the trees and hear the sounds of the other members working down below. Bear walked towards the railing and rested her arms down and looked over her domain. Tiger followed behind her and put her hands on the railing, feeling the rust on her fingertips.
Bear turned her head towards her with a small smile.
"How would you feel about being my second in command?"
Tiger felt her breathe stop. She looked over into Bears eyes, she could only imagine how Bear saw her now. Her hair was a mess and in her face from the outside air. Her eyes were probably popping out from surprise. And her mouth was definitely open in a gape. But from her own eyes she could see a genuine smile and sense of kindness from Bear. A kindness that Tiger wasn't used to.
Tiger finally felt an overwhelming sensation. She laughed.
This time it wasn't coincided or cocky. She was just surprised.
And that's how she became Bears right hand. From then on it wasn't just Bear the leader. It was Bear and Tiger.
The words grew on Tiger. And it seemed like they grew on Bear too.
