When I woke up the sun was just beginning to come up like the events of last night thunderstorm had never occurred the cowboys were sitting at the table eating and laughing. The cowboys had left like a pack of wild dogs on prey. when My uncle came and sat next to me,

“Kiddo it seems to me like you have been adjusting quite well around here”

“Yes, what about it?”

“If you chose to stay with me. you are going to be doing chores  and working on the ranch”

“That's completely fine but I am not sure if I want to stay I am missing my friends”

“Well whatever you chose”

With that he gets up and leaves the table I watch him leave and shut the door behind him I've only been down here for a couple of days and somehow I feel like I have just arrived.when  I heard Jenna open the door

“Cassidy!” she sounds worried and unsure of herself

“Yes”

“It's bolt! His leg is bleeding!”

“What!?1”

I grabbed my boots and rushed outside and ran outside to Bolts paddock

To see a stripe of red go down his leg.  I wanted to scream but I kept calm because I knew Bolt would react to any sound I made.

“Jenna I believe there is some bandage I saw in the tack room we can stop the bleeding and maybe use it as a tourniquet.”

“I clicked the lead rope to his halter” I felt awful he is supposed to not  be hurt how could he have hurt himself? Shortly after my uncle came to the barn.

I heard a little voice in the back of my head “ He is hurt because of you! Anyone who gets close to you. Gets hurt” I tried desperately to get the thought out of my head but it was true he got hurt because I put him in the round pen which has wood and nails. He was separated from the rest of the herd because of me. I felt my stomach drop. Just like My parents they

got hurt because they wanted to go on a date without me they wanted time away from me.

That is when My uncle came in

“What happened”

“Jessica came in and told me Bolt hurt himself that is when I saw him”

“Well let me call the vet he may need stitches”.

“In the meantime, Cassidy Hold him still.”

Jessica stood there with me and Bolt keeping an eye if he tried to run. Five minutes later the vet appeared.

“What have we got here,” she said with enthusiasm

“You must be Kenneth's niece aren't you just the sweetest”

“This is your horse?”

I wish I thought to myself he just seems to connect with me

No”

“Well all he needs is a little bit of stitches and we need to clean the wound every couple of hours. Also, don't wrap it too tight,” she said while sewing him up. The way she did his stitches I could tell she has done this before. The vet gave Bolt a sedative that seemed to almost put him to sleep to
