Treacherous

Chapter 2

As the trio came up to the door, Luna noticed a NOW HIRING sign, she decided that tomorrow she'll come back and apply since she thought it would be easier to work on campus rather than the liquor store she was at currently.

As they came in Luna ordered a black coffee causing Elena to look at her like she was deranged.

"No way, how do you guys drink just black coffee? It's so bitter" Elena made a face as she heard Jade order one too "I'll take an americano with coconut milk and sugar please" she turned around and smiled, Luna looked at Elena with a raised eyebrow 'this girl...'

As Jade chose the table, she told Elena to order her a peach scone, Elena ordered a buttered muffin and Luna ordered the cream cheese swirl muffin.

Luna sat down next to Jade "you're something else'' Jade laughed towards Elena "that much caffeine on top of your energy?" Elena chuckled "what can I say?" Luna looked out the window and began to zone out until she felt Jade nudge her "huh what?" Luna blinked "your drink and muffin, your highness" Luna's eyes became saucers at the nickname "you okay?" Jade asked leaning slightly towards Luna like she was gonna whisper a secret, Luna felt herself lean in too before jolting back and stood up as if she remembered something, she grabbed the plate and mug before walking out the door not hearing Elena ask Jade "d-did she just grab the mug and plate...?"

Jade ran out stopping Luna "Luna!" she turned around. Jade had a grin on her face "I hope you're planning to return those" Luna got confused and looked down seeing that she had the mug and plate in her hands "...oh my god I wasn't even thinking or realized" she closed her eyes embarrassed "I'm such a mess" she said out loud rather in her head "it's cute" Jade said causing Luna to snap her eyes open "what was?" She asked "you" Jade said in a flirty tone before she asked Luna to hand her the things so she could bring them in "I'll just come in" Luna acknowledged the things in her hands. With a nod Jade opened the door for Luna with a smile.

Once sat back down Elena leaned on her elbows "you like her!" she whispered yelled causing Luna to blush "I'm not even into girls I don't what you're talking about" she said in a panicked tone glancing at Jade as she was walking towards the table, Elena smiled at Jade with a small knowing smile causing Luna to frown regretting letting the two girls go with her.

After they left the cafe they went back to their dorm "that was a cute cafe" Luna said the moment she sat on her bed "I'm so gonna be a regular, they had pretty good coffee" Jade said smiling at Luna causing her to avert her eyes.

"Uh i still need to unpack" she said getting up and tried to get her bags smoothly, but when she walked over to them she stumbled and fell into the closet door 'just kill me now' she groaned regaining her footing and started to unpack, she pulled out a framed picture of her with her, her mom and dad she stared at it for a few moments before she felt tears well up, she quickly set it down on her desk and subtly wiped her tears, she then unpacked everything else.

"Hey Luna" Luna turned around to face Jade with a curious look "yeah?" she questioned looking at Jade noticing she had an aura about her that Luna felt compelled to "oh I just noticed you're finished packing and wanted to ask if you wanted help since Elena decided to explore campus" Jade explained. Luna nodded and watched as Jade began unpacking, not knowing what to do she watched Jade waiting for instructions, Jade noticing Luna hasn't moved "oh you can fold my clothes and hand them to me" she said with a smile, nodding Luna began folding.

After she folded she reached for the hangers 'wait no, wait for Jade to say something!' she mentally yelled at herself, turning to ask Jade "oh you can put the clothes on the hanger" Jade asked as if reading her mind.

After they finished with the clothes Jade gestured for Luna to just put her items anywhere she deems fitting, Luna not expecting to be trusted just blinked and started doing just that, she turned not seeing Jade looking at her fondly. 'Why does she trust me?? I don't know what the hell I'm supposed to do!' she internally panicked, feeling herself start to shut down she stood up straight looking around almost frantically fighting back the urge to rub her hands on her clothes 'shit' she decided to leave the dorm and go outside to the nearest bench or tree to lean against.

Once outside she teared up and began chewing her nails, sliding down she closed her eyes rubbing them with her fingers harder then she meant out of frustration 'why can't I be normal?!' she mentally yelled. After a few minutes she felt herself calm down, leaning her head against the tree, she looked up at the sky "it's my first day I'll get used to it and learn how to manage without dad" she told herself.

She saw Elena approaching her "hey you okay?" she asked her in a concerned manner before kneeling down so she's eye level with Luna. Getting herself in check she tried to find her voice, seeming to notice she still had a small knot in her throat she nodded slowly not missing Elena's eyes narrowing which Luna is guessing she's not being convincing, wetting her lips "I uh... got overwhelmed, i get overwhelmed very easily and Jade isn't helping, everytime she smiles or... teases me? I just freeze, but with you I'm a little more comfortable even though I'll have to get used to your energy" Luna said without realizing her ramble, Elena fought back the knowing look she wanted to give to Luna after hearing about Jade, she nodded understandingly, "I may not get it" she began "but I understand. college is a huge step and meeting new people can be overwhelming for some, so if you need someone to talk to just wake me up and we can walk around campus if you want" Elena smiled kindly before standing up and reached her hand out for Luna to take, after a moment she took it and stood up "I needed that"

Back in the dorm Luna instantly flopped into bed and passed out. she dreamt of going on a wild adventure with a girl who looked a little too much like Jade and Elena.
