Chapter 3

[ TW: for a anxiety attack! the anxiety starts at 'Hearing the door shut' ]

When Luna woke up she checked her phone and it read 8:00 AM, sighing she sat up and looked over at Jade, she let her eyes linger and she noticed her eyes go to her lips, she had a strange feeling that she wasn't used to, but instead of pushing it away she let it sit, Jade wasn't the first girl she felt this way towards, but she's definitely the first to flirt and it scared Luna, she grew up with heteronormativity all her life and never once seen anything about girls being attracted to other girls other then on some shows she's watched.

Luna hadn't realized she zoned out while staring at Jade until she noticed the lips she has been staring at were now smirking playfully, darting her eyes away she heard an amused sigh from the direction she looked away from, blinking she stood up and went to the bathroom to do her morning routine.

When she came out of the bathroom she noticed Jade fell back asleep, she noticed how early it was so she decided to go to the cafe to see if she could work there, she wrote a sticky note for both of the sleeping girls with her number and to make a group chat if they (specifically Elena) wanted.

She got to the cafe and ordered a black coffee and a banana nut muffin whilst asking what they needed her to do for the process, all they said to wait for their manager to get there and they'll just talk and she should be hired, deeming it easy she sat down and scrolled through Twitter.

When Luna came back to the dorm she noticed that both Elena and Jade were up and dressed for the day, she suddenly felt bad for not getting them anything from the cafe, she sat at her desk as Elena noticed her "oh you're back!" she said giddily.

"uh yeah, I just went to the cafe" Luna replied in a small voice, she noticed that Jade was watching her intently in the corner of her eye.

Brushing it off, she looked down she frowning a bit "uh sorry I didn't bring anything for you guys"

Elena and Jade smiled and told her not to worry since they're planning on having a roommate shopping day when they're all free of classes causing Luna to look at them with a small smile on her lips.

A little while later Luna was reading shadow & bone (a book she had on her reading list for 3 years) she was so engrossed she didn't notice Jade watching her while Elena shook her head knowingly.

Luna's mind wandered to the dream she had the night before, she couldn't shake the feeling that it had something to do with her and Jade which made her stop reading when she remembered that she only knew Jade in the dream whilst everyone else she recalled never meeting but she definitely knew she looked like the princess in her dream who had kissed Jade, she wanted to glance at her roommates but couldn't bring herself to look, her mind then wandered off to when she woke up and realized that she had checked Jade whilst sleeping.

she covered her face with her book when she felt her face going red, she groaned when she realized that she definitely has a crush on her roommate. "You okay over there Lune" Luna heard Jade ask, she nodded. realizing Jade probably couldn't see her nod she squeaked out a "y-yeah" Jade chuckled fondly "sure you are" she teased causing Luna to wanna curl up and die.

"Hey Jade wanna go for a walk?" Elena asked, noticing Luna's embarrassment, "what about Luna?" she asked which caused Elena to stare at Jade with a 'you know what I mean' face causing Jade to realize "oh yeah sure" she got up and smiled towards Luna "enjoy your book~" she said following Elena out the room.

Hearing the door shut, Luna closed her book and grabbed her phone, she was tempted to text Jace, but she thought back to him telling her he had liked her, she stood up and tossed her phone, she began to pace thinking about her feelings towards Jade and how she could very well be mistaking whatever she's feeling as a crush like she has done before. 'I've done this before, it's not a crush and I don't like girls' she thought as she felt the room closing in on her.

She began to whine as she felt dizzy and disoriented, she kept repeating that she didn't like girls in her mind over and over again not hearing her phone ringing, she felt her breathing get more shallow as she started to bite her nails and paced frantically.

It was when she felt like she was about to faint she felt hands on her shoulders that stopped her, she saw Elena staring at her with intense worry "are you okay?" Luna stared back disorientingly "okay let's sit you down" she heard Jade whisper as she took her arm and gently walked her to the bed which Luna sat down ungracefully, she didn't know when they came back or how much time she lost.

She vaguely heard Elena and Jade talking in front of her, she suddenly felt disconnected from her body, she had moments like these but she never knew what it was and she only got like this whenever she began to stress or overthink about something. she definitely needs to talk to someone cause she knows it's not normal but she was too scared cause once she finds out what it is she feels like she's gonna get treated differently, she started to hyperventilate again, she felt someone sit down next to her "hey hey it's okay it's okay" she heard Elena's voice say softly, Luna hated feeling like this, she didn't like people seeing her at her lowest, she felt her eyes well up.

"Is it okay if I hugged you?" Elena said softly, nodding, Luna leaned into Elena's body, feeling Elena wrap an arm around her. She felt calmer, but she wanted to go home to her dad since he was the only one she felt comfortable around, he always could do what she needed him to without saying anything. But she felt safe around Elena and she felt grateful to have such a wonderful roommate.

She started to doze off before she felt a second pair of arms and a body drape itself over her, she felt herself smile as she fell asleep.
