I stepped out of the diner, and it was already midnight... been working double shifts to get extra money. It's been very cold lately as I looked up at the midnight sky. The gray clouds were covering the stars, wishing that I would see them. Sigh, turning away from the clouds began to walk home on my usual route going towards the ally of Victoria, Australia. I know it's dangerous for me to walk alone in the alley, never carrying anything with me, just my bookbag that I held close to me. I lost my parents about a month ago and I had to pay a lot of funeral expenses, at least my parents had left a trust fund for me. I got into the alley, but stopped for a second as I looked both sides and behind me in case that no one was following me? My boss doesn't even like me working at home alone because it's dangerous for me. I never asked anyone for a ride because I was thinking about buying a car to save up some money but after the death of my parents, I had to use that money to pay for the funeral. Taking a deep breath started walking into the dark alley, my home is on the other side of the alley. I still held my bookbag close to me while walking, only hearing the eco of my two feet. "Alright Souline, you got this, just a little further." I was talking to myself. I don't normally talk to myself, it's just a habit of mine. Also at the end of the alley, when a shadow figure came out of nowhere standing in front of me. I stopped feeling fear within me, the shadow figure stepped out of the shadow to see a homeless man, giving me a creeping smile with missing two front teeth, wearing old smelly clothes, his shoes are worn out.

"Hello, there gal." the homeless man said "give me your bag and I won't hurt ya." showing me a hunter knife, I couldn't move, couldn't speak or yell for help because the words were stuck in my throat. The homeless man took a step toward me as I stepped back and wanted to get away from him. "Give me the stupid bag!" I flinched and held my bookbag close to me once more. I turned around quickly and needed to run but I didn't run fast enough, the homeless man grabbed me by the hair, I screamed for help. The homeless man laughed "Hahaha... no one is going to save ya gal... no one is going to help you."

"Let go of me!" I yelled as he pulled my hair hard as I groaned in pain, felt the hunter knife press against my neck, the knife was cold to the touch. I tried to kick him behind me but he was too strong. "LET GO OF ME!" I scream, but the homeless man laughs once again. He's not getting my bookbag from me, I'm not giving anything. He slimed me into the brick wall hard feeling the pain on my forehead, feeling blood dripping into my eye, down into my work uniform.

"If you can't give me the bag, I'll take something else from you..." the homeless man said, pressing his body against mine.. I felt fear that he's going to rape me. I felt his filthy hands touch me, I closed my eyes and wanted this nightmare to be over. Praying to god that let this be over, that when I heard a homeless man scream, someone took him off me as I couldn't turn because I was scared. I heard the homeless man scream again, covering my ears from him screaming.

The screaming stopped, and I heard someone voice behind me "Are you okay?" I turned around slowly to see a handsome man, he had blood on his lip dripping down from his chin. I watch him wiping the blood off his lip and chin "I'm not here to hurt you." He said "the homeless man here is not going to hurt you anymore." kicking the homeless man's leg "don't worry, he's conscious for now." I looked down to see the homeless man pass out.

"What did you do to him?" I questioned him. The handsome man didn't say anything but noticed the blood on my forehead, touching my chin with his index finger looking at my forehead.

"You need to put a bandage on there and you'll be alright." he said, removing his finger from my chin. "Let me walk you home." I only responded with a nod, holding my bookbag close to me. "I promise, I won't hurt you." He said, holding out his hand towards me.

I place my palm on his, moving away from the conscious homeless man walking out of the alley together. I cleared my throat "Thank you for saving me... um sir." I said to him even though I don't know his name.
