Love at First Sight ••Modern AU••

It was just a typical morning at Berk. Birds chirping, the sun glowing it's golden ray, people greeting each other with a smile, waking up then go on their ways.

It was just at it's usuals, except for one girl.

Astrid woke up thanks to her noisy alarm clock. She just recently moved to Berk due to her dad's job. She's actually happy about it.

She really doesn't like her previous neighborhood and school. Her neighbors would make a ruckus at times, it wasn't really peaceful most of the time. Bullies would fight there and here. Gossip will spread in just a blink of an eye.

Astrid actually hated it. She tried to ignore them, but it was impossible for her to not listen to all the noise. She just wanted peace.

At some point her wish got granted. She hoped that her new place would be better than the previous, not really the best.

Astrid head to the bathroom for a shower, which her bathroom is attached to her bedroom. After that she changed into her clothes, put her hair into a shoulder braid and head downstairs for some breakfast.

When she got down, her parents greeted her a good morning an she greeted back.

During breakfast, she kept thinking about her new school and all. Would they like her? Would she fit in? Would the teachers like her? Questions ran to her head which she nearly lost track of time.

She snapped out of her thoughts and finished her breakfast. Once she's done, she grabbed her bag and books, receive her daily allowance for school and head outside. With a goodbye of course.

But before she went out her father shouted "Make sure to eye on someone!" Astrid's cheeks flushed pink "Dad!" She exclaimed and her dad just giggled

Astrid waited for the bus, until it arrives. When she went in, girls start whispering and boys looked at he like crazy. If you experienced it.

She just ignore them and sat down on an empty sit looking out the window, earphones on, listening the funky rhythm.

Minutes later, the bus arrived at her new school and all the passengers, including her went down. She looked around and sigh, knowing that this year and being a newbie won't be easy.

She went inside the school and people start staring at her with 'questioned' eyes. She ignored them as usual.

Astrid tried to find the Principal's office for her ID, locker number and all. But she couldn't find it, since the school is big.

She started walking fast as if she was In a hurry. While she was walking, she didn't noticed a few people in front of her at first actually.

But then...

"Ow" she groaned in pain while holding the spot that has the pain. Astrid bumped into someone, which she didn't noticed.

All of her books are now scattered on the floor and she picked them up. Except, she wasn't alone.

A guy with auburn brown hair helped her picked up a few of her books. Astrid try to not looked at him, but she couldn't help herself.

He looks cute she thought. The guy has auburn hair and it's in it's messy style. He has those forest green mesmerizing eyes that made all girls fall for him easily (like now).

He has a little facial hair in his chin. His bodywork is somehow not like any guy with big muscles. It has some muscles but just right (in Astrid's opinion).

Huh, no wonder Astrid couldn't take off her eyes away from this guy!

Astrid kept looking at him with a few glances which she almost got caught.

The guy, on the other hand, as well kept looking at her like she's a goddess. She looks like a goddess he thought.

According to him, her golden blonde hair is perfect and she has those sapphire mesmerizing eyes. He would ended staring at her most of the time.

Back to reality, as they were picking up Astrid's books, they ended up staring at each other's eyes with awe.

They stared at each other for like a minute? They were about to get the last book until their hands touched.

Which made their cheeks turned crimson red. They looked at each other again but Astrid break it to avoid him seeing her blush, hard.

Astrid instead got the last book and they both stand up "Um... Are you alright?" The guy asked and Astrid nodded as she looked down "I'm... Fine" she stuttered

The guy smiled. She looks cute when she's nervous he thought

"Thanks for... Helping me..." She stuttered again. Gosh, why am I stuttering?! She thought. The guy chuckled and offered a handshake.

Astrid looked up and she looked at the hand, wanting a shake. "My name is Hiccup Horrendous Haddock the Third, yours?" He introduced.

Astrid giggled and smile as she accept his offer "Astrid Hofferson" she introduced herself.

Divine Beauty, it suits her name Hiccup thought. Hiccup? It sounds cute *mental giggle* Astrid thought and somehow mentally giggled.

"Are you looking for the principal's office?" Hiccup asked "Yeah I've been looking for it for a while and I still couldn't find it" she answered

"Oh just go straight and turn right once you saw the lockers" he instructed as he gesture the ways "Oh okay thanks" she thanked him and start walking there.

"I could take you there if you want!" He exclaimed. Astrid stopped in her tracks and looked at him "No it's okay" she says and smiled "Okay, suit yourself" he said as he went to opposite direction.

Astrid giggled and head to the office. She actually wants him to come with her, but she might end up blushing in the whole walk.

Now, she couldn't help herself but smile and thought

Oh Thor... Am I in love??
