"Thing?" Cairo said sleepily after being slapped,

His phone is ringing too, "Son? Your friends need you." It was Sheriff Galpin's voice, his heart just jumped out of his chest and Thing pulled him out of his bed,

Cairo tried to follow after grabbing the first cloth he got his hands on and wrapping the chain of his antique on his wrist, Thing stopped as Cairo almost fell, still out of breath after using his powers to slow down everything except him and Thing.

"Thanks." He told Thing and followed after, Cairo saw Enid being caught by Ajax and looked away, he still heard what she's saying and both him and Eugene ran towards what they know is danger.

Eugene grabbed him, the timekeeper saw Wednesday standing while someone talking, a bee flew past him then a hive, he shouted at Wednesday to ask her then gunshots followed, he ran to Wednesday and grabbed the girl, she fought at first but she seems to have her seizure episodes so he put her down when he thought it's safe and put his bathrobe under her head. Eugene said that Miss Thornhill is unconscious.

That made Cairo very confused, he stood up to check on the woman but another last shot sounded and he saw the woman holding the gun firing at him but there's no bullets anymore.

"You almost shot Miss Addams." He commented, the woman looked scared as he towered over her, unreasonable anger and the already existing adrenaline coursing through him, he pulled the gun and threw it away before manhandling the woman, he ignored the warm liquid on his left shoulder, pushing away any thoughts and trusting the shock to push him through the whole ordeal.

He trusted Eugene to help Wednesday and he's right, Wednesday was already sitting up when he got back, he picked up a rope on the debris and questioned himself what just happened, he tied the woman's hand behind her and she did not resist.

"You should have let the adults handle things as dangerous as a madwoman with a gun." Cairo lashed out,

"I've just handled worse!" Wednesday seethed, and Cairo just felt the chill of the night over his body, his mind running too fast and too far to what could have happened too.

"Should we call the sheriff?"

"He was the one that called me, he is probably on his way."

"Principal Weems, she's in the botany garden." Wednesday said weakly.

Cairo bit his lips, he knows that she's probably hurt or worse but he needed to contain the danger first, it was only minutes but felt like hours until he handed Ms. Thornhill to the Deputy Sheriff.

He almost runwalked and grabbed his bathrobe after getting the first aid kit from the police car, another cop followed him and he reported what Wednesday said to him about Weems.

They saw white cloth, a dress but no body, he walked forward, looking for any sign until a coo caught his attention.

A baby with blonde hair and familiar blue eyes met him.
