So, I am trying to take my time writing chapters and not rush through things. But even giving myself a more lax writing schedule it still feels like some parts of this story are getting rushed. On the other hand, some filler chapters during the time skips feel too slow. Maybe I am just being super self critical. Please leave some comments as you read so I know if I'm doing a good job or not, I can pick up the pace of the story, or slow it down but if no one comments then I have no idea and I can't improve anything for you guys.

"Say hello to your Uncle Laenor." Laena sweetly coaxed her eldest daughter who was shyly clinging to her mother's black and red Targaryen themed skirts. The dress she wore was actually a hand me down from her mother, the exact gown Rhaenys had worn at the Great Council.

Her brother knelt down to be on the child's level and gave her a warm smile.

"You have grown so much since I saw you last, angelfish." He complimented as the little girl of four looked to the ground with a blush, "More and more like your mother."

He looked up at his twin who smiled back at him. It had been five long years since Laena's wedding to Prince Daemon. And a handful of years since the brother and sister had last seen each other. The Rogue Prince, who by his own stubborn nature, had opted to remain at their manse in Pentos drinking and whoring while his wife and daughters were away. Laena knew about her husband's infidelity, she cared not. The serving man who had caught her husband's eye was no threat to her.

Returning her gaze down to her daughter she tapped Maela's shoulder. With the encouragement she peeked around her mother tentatively before moving forward and giving Laenor a hug. He scooped her up which made her giggle and cling to him. She should bring the girls to the Red Keep more often, Laena thought, they were still so young that too much time away would make Laenor unfamiliar to them again. And it seemed waiting to visit until Rhaenyra gave birth was too infrequent. She wanted her children to be close with their uncle Laenor.
