10:18A.M.It was basically part of Rin's routine to go on a daily jog and come back home after he's finished with his laps. But you know what's not part of his routine? Bumping into a boy on his way to enter the house.
He had just finished his routine and was about to go back inside until he stopped when he noticed a boy waiting outside the gate, causing a hindrance to his entry.
He's convinced that he's just some delivery guy of some sort. Until the boy looked at him and a look of recognition made it's way onto the boy's features. Rin assumes that the boy knows who he is because he decides to ask out,
"Oh! Uhh.. hey. You're (Y/n)'s older brother, right?"
..
The fuck?
This boy knows who (Y/n) is??
"And who are you?" Rin asked in a definitely-not-passive-aggressive voice.
In doing so, he looks the boy up and down with narrowed eyes, already weary of his presence. He continues to look at the boy as if he were some disgusting bug that meant nothing but a cause of irritation to him, his nose already scrunched in annoyance.
The boy being fully aware of his gaze, he states out, uncomfortable, "I'm (Y/n)'s friend.. I just wanted to ask you if she's inside."
"Why?" Rin responded almost immediately.
"I wanted to ask her if she wants to go with me to the mall.." The boy avoids eye contact while stating out those words, already feeling nervous by the intense stare.
Fuck no.
No way in hell will Rin ever allow his little sister to go with a boy alone. Never. Not now, not ever.
But he knows that he can't just scare this boy away. Since the boy mentioned being her friend, it would be bad if he were to scare him away because he knows that his sister would get mad at him if he did so. And that's the last thing he wants her to be.
Unless the boy was lying about being her friend of course. Which is another reason why Rin doesn't want him to be alone with her. If Rin can't even trust his words, how can he trust that he won't do anything bad?
In the process of thinking, he finally came to a conclusion as to how to get rid of this cause of annoyance.
"Hm. I'll go see if she's awake. She slept late last night." he quickly tells the boy.
Hearing that, boy smiles before responding, "Okay, thanks."
Rin fought the urge to roll his eyes.
..
As he approaches the porch leading to the front door, he checks to see if the boy could see him. Seeing that he couldn't, Rin stands there, unmoving. He counts a realistic amount of seconds in his head to make it seem like he was taking his time.
Rin made it so that the boy would think that he actually went inside the house and checked, but in reality, he didn't. Another reason for not entering the house was also so that (Y/n) won't get suspicious, nor would she catch sight of her 'friend' outside.
Once he comes to the conclusion that he can come out now, he starts walking back to where the boy was. Except this time, he doesn't come out of the gate. There's no point anyway. He's just shooing him away.
"Sorry to inform you, but it seems like she's still asleep." Rin informs, the coldness in his voice never wavering. "Better luck next time." He says, tauntingly.
The boy's entire mood sours upon hearing the words. "Oh.. okay then. Thanks.." With that, the boy starts walking away.
Rin only narrows his eyes in response, his stare burning daggers onto the boy's back with the intention of making him uncomfortable.
Once the boy turns the corner and was finally out of sight, Rin walks back to the house, not realizing that a pair of eyes were looking the entire time.

10:28A.M.It was actually a surprise that I woke up 'early' despite sleeping late last night. Usually when I sleep at that time, I wake up at around noon or around the time when everyone's already done having lunch. But.. despite waking up early, I really don't have any plans for today.
With nothing else to do, I lounged on the couch while peacefully scrolling through my phone. Until that peace was ruined when my mom called out my name,
"(Y/n)!" Her voice resonated all around the house.
Stopping my scrolling and taking the earphone out of my ear, I call out back, asking what she wants.
"Come here!"
I let out a sigh before deciding to check out what she had called me in for. Once arriving at the kitchen where she was stationed at, I raised an eyebrow and asked, "What?"
"That boy, Kou, was it? Your friend right?" She asked.
I nod as confirmation before adding, "Uhh yeah, kinda? We have the same classes so-" I shrug.
Mom hums before continuing whatever she was gonna say, "I just saw your big brother shoo him away. He was outside the gate, you know? Probably looking for you."
I was about to open my mouth to ask more until the front door opens. Upon seeing my older brother enter, immediately march my way towards him before exclaiming,
"Why'd you shoo Kou away without telling me??"
Caught off guard by the sudden question, he raises an eyebrow before a wave of realization washes over him.
"Who? Oh. Him." He merely states.
"Yeah, him! Why'd you do that??"
Rin-nii immediately explains his side, "Because he was gonna ask you to go to the mall with him, and I can't allow you to go alone with a boy without supervision. It's too dangerous. What if he'll do something bad to you? What then?"
With that, he crosses his arms as he looks down at me with his head slightly tilted upwards. I already know that that's his cocky way of showing that he's right.
"What?! Oh come on he's not like that!" I tried to reason with him.
"And how do you know that?"
"Because he's not even into girls!"
