"My friends are probably out there, surviving on little to no food and water. We need to find them, fast."

"We'll find them, stop worrying so much," Gwi-nam reassured me. He walked up beside me and sat down next to me.

Min-jae had walked off to join Ha-ri and the others.

It was just me and Gwi-nam, accompanied by my backpack.

"Hey, Gwi-nam. They don't trust you yet. Can you please at least try to gain their trust?" I asked him.

"I don't need them to trust me," he responded.

"They wanted to kick us out."

He glanced over at the rest of the group. "Who are they to kick us out of the gym? We got here first."

"Yeah, I get that. But Mi-jin is my friend, and I don't want to lose her," I stated.

Gwi-nam sighed. "I don't like bein' nice."

"You're nice to me, though."

He looked away from me, and said something under his breath.

"Sorry, what?" I asked.

"Nothin'. I'll tell you later," he said. He got up and walked out of the weight room.

I sighed to myself.

What an asshole.

Well, fuck.

It's all on me now, I guess.

I walked over to Ha-ri, Mi-jin, and the others.

"What's up?" Mi-jin asked.

"Not much. What about you guys?" I responded.

"Oh, that's not what I meant. You and Gwi-nam looked stressed out."

"I was just scolding him," I laughed.

I let them continue their conversation as I sat down next to Mi-jin. Everyone looked so happy, for once.

Whether it was because they had food, or because they had friends, we will never know. But with the current situation, I'm happy for them.

I wish I could be a little more happy.

I had spaced out without realizing, so I simply waited for an awkward silence to say something.

"So, we leave tomorrow?" I announced.

"Yes, if that's still okay," Ha-ri replied.

I nodded. "Early?"

"Yeah."

"I think it's raining right now, actually," Min-jae said.

"Wait, you're right," Mi-jin said.

"Zombies track through scent and sound. What if this is our chance?"

"Wait..." I said.

"No, stop, I don't want to leave! We have food here, we can just wait to be rescued," Jun-seong pleaded. I hadn't even realized he was there.

"We could just leave you here," Mi-jin said to him.

Jun-seong sighed, defeated.

"I'll go outside to see what it's like out there," I announced.

"What?? No!" Mi-jin said, worried. "Make a plan first, no one does anything solo."

"She's right," Ha-ri added. "Plan first."
