Chapter 4: Unveiling Secrets

A/N I am sorry for the long wait for an update. I once again did it again and I'm sorry. But I really thought my interest (and dopamine levels) would last longer than it did. Evidently I was wrong and I am sorry I haven't updated in a while. I am also sorry for not posting chapter 3 sooner as I have had it done for a little while now. I meant to post it but things just got busy and I forgot. I wish I could say this won't happen again, but I don't want to give any false hope that I will actually update on a schedule. Anyway, I haven't updated in a little while also because of this chapter. I think it was really this chapter combined with work that led to me losing interest. Mainly because I was struggling to write this chapter. So, I really hope it didn't turn out too terribly for what I am considering a bit of a filler/set up chapter in a way, which is why it is shorter than any of the other chapters. I just didn't know what to write anymore. Anyway, sorry for the rambling and long author's note. On with the story. 😊

Summary: Amidst a coded message, hidden secrets, and the embrace of the Order of the Phoenix, the group discovers there is a lot more to being a member of the Order of the Phoenix than fighting the good fight against Voldemort. But the future holds daunting challenges as they embark on their journey as official members. What awaits them in this chapter of destiny and determination?

After James and Lily had received their letter from Dumbledore, James used the floo to contact Jasmine and Sirius to see if they received a letter as well. Obviously, they had, which eventually led to James and Lily postponing unpacking and heading over to St. Albans to see Jasmine and Sirius. The four discussed their letters as neither letter gave a location for the meeting. Rather there was a coded message within the letter that they assumed would tell them where the meeting was to be held. And while putting all their heads together, they figured it out, no problem. Not long after that, a letter arrived from Remus checking that they had gotten the letter and had figured out where they were meeting. James quickly wrote back a short note that basically only said yes. A letter from Peter didn't arrive until later, as he got some help from Remus.

Now that they had figured out the location of the Order of the Phoenix meeting, the Marauders and Lily felt a mix of excitement and apprehension as the day of the gathering arrived. They had spent the past few days making final preparations, ensuring they were mentally and emotionally ready to face the challenges that awaited them. And soon enough, the day had finally arrived.

The five Marauders and Lily gathered outside Sirius and Jasmine's house so they could all head to the meeting together. With a shared look between the six of them, they prepared to apparate to the secret location where the meeting would take place. Then with a swift twist in the air, they apparated, feeling the familiar sensation of being compressed and squeezed through space.

They landed gracefully in another dimly lit alley, a short distance away from the concealed safe house location as to not arise suspicion from any muggles or any other people that may be watching. James and Sirius took a peek out of the alley and glanced around to make sure that there was no one suspicious around that might be watching them or the meeting location. After they were satisfied, they weren't being followed and remained undetected, they made their way toward the meeting location. As they walked, their footsteps echoed against the cobblestone pavement.

As they approached the entrance to the location, there was someone waiting outside to "greet" them. In reality, the person was standing guard, making sure that no one who wasn't invited to this meeting would be allowed to enter. Thankfully the guard happened to be Frank Longbottom who immediately recognized them as they approached. He gave them a nod and opened the door for them making an intricate pattern using his wand by tapping on parts of the door. As the group walked past him into the building, Frank said, "Marlene and Alice should both already be inside. I think Mary is expected to be here any minute according to Marlene when she last spoke with her yesterday." This was mostly said to Jasmine and Lily since they were the closest to the girls. The two girls smiled at Frank in thanks as they continued on their way.
