Malia rushed up the stairs to her apartment building, dialing Ja's number for the 15th time. She knew he wasn't gonna answer because Ja was on the plane, but she needed to talk to him. Like now.

"Gosh. Why?" Malia whispered, walking right into Brooklyn's apartment. "Why do bad things happen to me?"

Brook and Desmond were sitting on the couch, relaxing when Malia barged in. "Hey, Ma-"

"Tyus just kissed me."

Desmond made a face. "Bullshit."

"Not bullshit." Malia said. "I was getting back from Ja's house and then he was getting Tyus Jr. shoes and then he asked me what I was doing after then I tried to tell him and he kissed me. Right on the fucking mouth."

Brooklyn stood up, grabbing her phone. "Are you fucking serious?"

If there was one person that was constantly getting blows thrown at her, it was Malia. She had two parents who had been drug obsessed and then she got beat on for almost three years.

She got a breath of fresh air when she met Brooklyn then Ja, but now God was using her as target practice once again.

Malia tried calling Ja again to which he didn't answer. "Ja isn't answering me."

"He on the plane, Malia." Desmond said. "I'm about to call this nigga Tyus."

Tyus didn't answer obviously and was busy at home, with his own family. He, too, was informed that he was not going to be a Grizzly next year and they would be shopping him for a younger guard.

Despite Ja's suspension, the Grizzlies had faith and were moving forward with him as their primary guard. They'd gotten Jett Howard in the draft and he was a more efficient scorer than Tyus.

Jones knew he was on his way out of town and he just needed to do something. It was dumb and he knew that now but he couldn't help it.

"I don't know what to do." Malia said, mugging the ground as her inner Memphis made its appearance. "Like that nigga just kissed me. He nasty and weird as fuck for that."

Brook sighed. "Why would he do that?"

Desmond shook his head. "Ja just left, too. I'm finna go to this nigga house."

"Yeah, do that." Brook and him shared a short kiss and he was gone. "Wow. I can't believe he'd do that to Ja. I thought he was passed that."

"Tell me you lyin', Malia." Ja spoke.

Malia sat in the center of her bed, afraid of his reaction. "No, honey. He kissed me after I gave him TJ's shoes."

It was shit like this that made Ja the irrational person that he was. This is what made him not comfortable with anyone around his girlfriend but him because people constantly took his loyalty for granted.

Ja stood up from his own bed. "I'm flyin' back right na'."

"Babe, no." She sighed. "This is what I didn't want to happen. You just got there and whatever business you have with Tyus can wait three weeks."

"Fuck allat, Malia."

"Desmond already went to talk to him so there's no reason for you to come down here. What would you do?" Malia tried reasoning. "Fight and get in more trouble? You can wait a few weeks to talk to him."

Ja sighed. "He waited 'til I left. He 'posed to be my guy and he go and do that?"

The guard was mad, obviously but he was more a mixture of disappointed and frustrated. Not only did Ja have the utmost respect for Tyus Jones, he looked up to him.
