While Su Chen was planning and cultivating peacefully in his cave dwelling, Ye Tian also returned to his "residence."

Although Princess Xia suppresses Ye Tian in many ways, he still is the son of the patriarch. As such, he still has a place in the Su estate.

But in this place of residence which is made of multiple surrounding houses, Ye Tian is the only one present.

Not even a single maid is seen!

Many palaces have decayed and are filled with cobwebs and layers of dust. Some doors and windows even look like they were attacked by stones and bricks.

This is the forgotten world within the Su estate.

And his father was also very disappointed in him. He became the laughingstock of the entire imperial court because he gave birth to such a waste son.

And Su Chen's dazzling halo made it even worse when he was compared with him.

But Ye Tian has already gotten used to it by now.

Though it wasn't always like this. When his mother, Concubine Ye, was still alive, there were still few maids and servants in this place. It was much livelier.

Although their lives weren't the best even at that time, and his mother was mostly terribly sick, that was the happiest time of his life.

But soon, the tragic memories resurfaced. His mother died suddenly, and all the maids disappeared, leaving only him and his personal maid Qing'er.

He always regarded Qing'er as his own relative, and now that only she was left by his side, she became even more important to him.

Ye Tian stood there by the side of the tattered door, gazing into the distance. He recalled Qing'er's gentle voice and fairy-like smile. But the memories again came to an abrupt halt.

Instead of happiness, his heart was filled with endless pain. It ached so much that he gripped his palm till his nails were almost impaled in it. He will never forget that day!

That day, Su Chen came to them with his usual smiling face. But the sinister nature he hid behind that kind stature was appalling.

He came to Qing'er, touched her chin and lifted her drooping face up, and looked straight into her eyes. At first, Ye Tian didn't know what Su Chen wanted to do, but he was vigilant. He knew Su Chen must want some reaction from him to punish or hurt Qing'er. He wouldn't let anything happen to her!

But for some reason, Su Chen gave her a glass of wine. At first, Ye Tian wanted to stop Qing'er as he thought Su Chen mixed something in the wine. But Qing'er probably sensed that Ye Tian would be in trouble if he went against this smiling tiger today, so she did as Su Chen instructed. She took the wine and, without hesitation, gulped it all up!

Seeing that she did as she was told, Su Chen left that desolate palace satisfied. As Ye Tian looked in the direction where Su Chen left in confusion, he suddenly heard a thud sound. Looking back, he found Qing'er lying flat on the ground with foam gushing rapidly from her mouth. Her skin started to bleed slowly.

He would never forget the kind smile she wore even as she knew her end was near. He blamed himself, cried, and wailed, but most of all, he wanted to tear Su Chen into thousands of pieces even if he were to be sentenced to hell.

But all he could hear was a weak sound, "Young master, please... please don't be angry... don't do anything... *cough* rash... live... well...*cough*"

That day was another darkest day in his life. It almost broke his Dao Heart, and almost suffered from Qi Deviation. He swore vengeance on these two retched demons who tore apart his happy life.
