My arms stopped your fall, in a club. The lights were pulsating, the music deafening...Those lights were nothing when your eyes met mine. They shone brighter than any city light I ever saw.
"Thanks, are you alright? I'm so sorry.."
Oh my dear, any man would be lucky to catch such beauty in his arms, but I dare not say a word...I saw you, my dear, once more over a pier one summer's evening.
The shine I saw the night I met you was replaced by the glow of the sun's dying rays.
The club did no justice to you, my sweet. I thank the sun for her dying rays...
Oaken eyes glow honey and amber, shades of gold among raven tresses. You looked like a beautiful dream, my heart... painted by an artist, every little thing perfect...
I summoned my courage and penned a letter with pressed daisies for you. It travelled with me in my pocket as my visits to the pier and club became a ritual, in hopes that you and I would cross paths again.
It stayed there as my eyes caught you, beautiful in a white summer's dress, arms around another. Your smile was the only reason I never felt too hurt.. absolutely joyful. Who am I, a mere man, to throw dirt into your happiness?
Life came fast and quick, before I knew it , 3 years have gone by.
I came back to the pier where my heart was broken. And there I see you again...
The gold has vanished from your tresses, and along with it , your glow. Your eyes have sunken like stones skipped over the lakes by children. Darkness pulsed around you. The only thing that shone now was the diamond on your finger.
The breeze gently pushed your hair, revealing purple on your once rosy cheeks. And tears fell from those oaken eyes.. you disappeared before I could catch you again...
A crowd was there when I returned to your pier a fortnight after. Curious, I inched closer
Tuts and words of pity and sorrow reached my ears as I saw what brought them here..
You looked so tired and thin, my angel. The sea silt and salt covered your dress. It was the same summer dress I saw the day my heart broke.
My feet took me away just as the tears began to fall. I caught you once before. If I had caught you then, you would've never lost your life.
I should've asked for your hand the day you fell into my arms
I'm sorry, my heart...
I had always dreamt of the day I would know your name
Never in my most horrid nightmares would I have thought that I would learn your name from your grave..
My letter sits there, my star in the sky.
I hope you shine among the stars, as bright as you did the day you enchanted me and drove me mad with longing...
I hope the angels love and hold you, give you the love I couldn't give you...
And the day I see you again, I will not falter as I did before...
