Technically, Al Haitham and Kaveh are still roommates and Al Haitham notices Kaveh being really distant with him.  (MODERN AU!!)

"Kaveh? " Al Haitham asked, noticing Kaveh about to open the front door. He noticed that Kaveh was being awfully quiet. "Yeah? " Kaveh replied, quietly. He knew he was acting distant and quiet.  "Where are you going? It's eight in the morning. " Al Haitham said, his voice having no emotion whatsoever. "Just going out to get some fresh air.. " Kaveh replied as he really wanted to just leave. Al Haitham stood up and went to the kitchen, making coffee. " What time are you coming back? " Al Haitham asked, still having no emotion in his voice. "Around.. Three in the afternoon.. Plus, why do you care? " Kaveh replied, wanting to just sprint out of there. "𝘛𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘪𝘴 𝘫𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘭𝘪𝘬𝘦 𝘢𝘯 𝘶𝘯𝘦𝘴𝘤𝘢𝘱𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘦 cutscence" Kaveh thought, sweating as Al Haitham looked at Kaveh. "Well.. Before you leave, I have a question. Why are you being so distant and quiet around me? It's like we're just strangers and not roommates. " Al Haitham replied, wanting to know the actual reason why. Kaveh didn't say a thing and tried leaving, but Al Haitham stopped him. "If you're gonna leave, please.. Just tell me the truth.. " Al Haitham said, still having no emotion in his voice, but you can see in his eyes, he's really desperate for an answer.  " do you.. Really want the truth, Al Haitham? " Kaveh said, quietly, not wanting to make Al Haitham angry. " Yes. I do really want to know. Please tell me. "
Then, Kaveh snapped. "Fine. I'll tell you the truth. I like you, Al Haitham. From the very moment we met I've always liked you. You were always so blind and busy to see it! Whenever I try to spark up a conversation, you just always ignore me.. Why do I even try anymore? It's useless to try anymore. " Kaveh snapped, but Al Haitham froze and his eyes were wide open by Kaveh's confession and how cold he had really been to Kaveh. "I always liked you too... I just couldn't say anything because... I never felt anything like this before... I wanted to say it, I really wanted but, the words just couldn't come out of my mouth..." Al Haitham replied, as tears formed in his eyes.
