-͟͟͞☆"do you have a jellyfish?"
"uhh, go fish."
"do you have a starfish?"
"oh, go FUCK YOURSELF!" chan yelled, throwing his entire stack of cards at jeongin who laughed, setting down his 10th pair.
on the other side of the table, felix rolled her eyes for the hundreth time that night and groaned.
"are you two done over there?" she grumbled to them, only to be ignored when chan desperately tried to make a comeback with the seahorse.
to give some context, long story short, felix was an unprofessional, underground, racer that typically traveled all over australia to compete for money. chan, her best friend, always acted as her "crew" and followed her along everywhere.
except this time the race was in sydney, their hometown. unfortunately, that meant their friend jeongin could come and watch which gave chan a friendly face to hang out with.
which ultimately meant felix got to play babysitter for the two as the full grown men with short attention spans giggled over card games all night.
eventually their game finished off where jeongin won for the 5th time and chan decided he didn't want to play anymore.
stacking the cards nicely on top of each other, the blond sighed. "jesus, are they ever going to get the results out?" he grumbled, sipping his root beer with a frown and watching the scorekeepers talk with one another.
felix just stayed quiet on the other side of the table, zoning out from absolute boredom. between the bad dj and cheap drinks, the night felt like it'd been dragging on for years. she'd almost be glad if she didn't make it to finals so she could go home and to bed.
but, as if they'd heard chan's grumbling, the mic squeaked across the speakers and the announcer's voice rang out.
"we are now entering the finals of tonight's races... up and coming for the championship, #25 lee felix and #82 choi jun. congratulations, racers, you can start making your way to the start line!"
"YES!" chan yelled, jumping out of his seat as an unsurprised felix just swallowed down the rest of her beer with a grimace, rolling it to the growing tower of them in the middle of the table.
chan was already collecting his betting money as she stood, sparing him a judging look. jeongin seemed to be the only one who'd picked up on it though, letting out a small laugh.
"jesus, chan, you gonna buy me a drink with that?" he asked, nudging his shoulder into the boy beside him.
the blond just happy danced beside him, waving the money under felix's nose.
"god," she muttered, giving the big stack a once over. "I haven't even won yet."
chan grinned. "then go win so that I can't even hold it all in one hand."
used to chan's constant betting and ridiculous excitement over money, she playfully hit the still waving hand in front of her away.
