"Jen, I know that we've been together for so long- 2 years actually, but I need something more exciting, I need the honeymoon phase again, I need a new experience and I can't get that if I'm with you. I'm sorry, but this is over.
Tom"
A letter. That's all I got from the guy that I wasted 2 years on. He didn't have the guts to end it face to face. Why did he do that? To this day I'm still so unsure. That was 8 months ago. I was so sure about Tom, I thought he was it, I thought he was the one, but no he needed "a new experience." From that day on, I knew that love couldn't be real and I knew that there was no such as thing as "soul mates." I was done. I am done. Now I just look at that letter and wonder what went wrong and wonder how I could waste two years on an idiot like him.
*CRASH, BOOM , WHACK*
"Felix, stop drumming so loud! I'm trying to have a pity party right now but how can I do that if I can't hear myself think?"
My little brother's sweaty hands dropped the drumsticks and his brown eyes looked up at me and then- "MOM! Jenny won't let me play!" There was my moany brother that I love all too much. "Why?" She responded quickly. "I don't know, she wants to have a pity party." He stated. I huffed, "Mom, you know how important my pity parties are, don't let him take that away." I heard her chuckle from her room, why does nobody take my pity parties seriously? "Felix, your drumming lesson is in twenty minutes, we better get going anyway. There you go Jen, happy?" "Yup." She giggled and went out to the car to bring my brother to his drumming lesson. I must say, even though he was an annoying squirt, he had some serious drumming skills, his teacher must have been really good.
Art always really calmed me down. That and music. I was in the middle of drawing a half eaten Apple that was too sour for me to eat but looked good, when I got a text from my mom.
"Got called in for an emergency meeting in work. You have to pick up Felix from his drumming lesson. The address is 23 Cape Lane. Thanks honey."
Great. I turned off Paramore, put down the pencil and got in my car. I looked in my mirrors and wow did I look a mess. My long, thick, fair hair was thrown up into a ridiculously sloppy bun, I had odd socks and a tracksuit on. There was heavy bags underneath my hazel eyes. To think that I wasn't signed to a model agency yet. Wow.
I pulled up outside the address that my mom sent me and it was a small white house with a big red door but there was no lights on. Was I in the right place? But then I heard the crashing sound of symbols from the garage next to the house. I strolled over to the garage and knocked on the door and then it shot up with a gorgeous guy standing behind it. He had long, floppy, light brown hair, beautiful hazel eyes and major muscles. He wore a ripped white vest, black jeans and really nice black boots. Wow, I wanted those boots. It was at that moment that I wished I looked a tiny bit more presentable. He smiled and I almost melted. "You must be here to pick up Felix, I'm Ashton, his teacher." He held out his hand for me to shake it but I was still staring at him and his sculpted muscles. I'm surprised I wasn't drooling at that point. I snapped out of it and finally said something "hey. I'm Jenny- I mean Jennifer wait, you can call me Jen though." Wow, I'm so dorky. He giggled, wow he had a hot giggle. We stared at each other for a while, both of us smiling when *cough, cough* "Hello! Jen, can we go now?" I could've hit him for interrupting my daydream. "Oh yeah, right, come on Felix, let's go." He grabbed his bag and jacket and ran to the car. "Great job today Felix, just loosen your wrists okay?", Ashton advised him.
"So, you're Felix's sister?"
"Yeah, that's me, the one and only." It was then that I nervously snorted. Yes, you read that right, I snorted. Ashton just laughed and moved on.
"He's a great kid, lots of potential.''
I smiled, "thanks, he really loves it, it must be the guidance he's getting." Wow, I was getting way too flirty. Ashton's cheeks began to blush.
* HONK. HONK*
Felix honked the horn of my car signalling his desire to go home. I looked back and gave him a glare and he smiled. I turned around and put my hand out for a handshake but he went in for the hug, and it was quite awkward and messy. Only I could be this awkward!
"I hope I see you again Jen" Ashton said.
"Yeah, me too."
I walked back to the car and I got in. Felix had his headphones on and was air drumming. I looked back to the garage to see Ashton there waving. I grinned and drove away, but also nervous because I knew I couldn't get in too deep.
