Chapter 7: The Chase

" WOOHOO, WE GOT THE NECKLACE!" Minyan cheered as the team was walking back for their vehicles.

" It's all thanks to Takemichi of course with his excessive bidding." Daniel said as he roughly put his arm around Takemichi's shoulder.

" Yeah Takemichi, like 10 trillion dollars? You made Bonten look like a joke." Ezra laughed as he also wrap his arm around Takemichi.

" It's was not problem." Takemichi said nonchalantly

" No seriously Takemichi, they must be pissed off, their probably planning to kill us right now." Minyan guessed.

" But on a real note, will you be ok Hanagaki? From here on out?" Lila asked.

The whole group stopped in front of their cars, looking at Takemichi who was lost in his thoughts.

" I got to see them after 12 whole years; they've changed, and I have to deal with that; so, I'll be ok." Takemichi responded

Nods were exchanged from the group.

" And if I recall, Ezra was gonna pay for drinks for completing the mission, am I right?" Takemichi smiled.

" Oh yeah, your gonna pay for our drinks agent Steel. Not even the paychecks from work is gonna save you." Daniel said, the whole group bursted laughing while Ezra just sulked.

Daniel and Minyan kept mocking Ezra as they got into their car; Takemichi and Lila got into theirs. Then they all drove off.

Takemichi's hands was firmly on the wheel, while the cool wind breezed through the car. The lamp poles giving them sources of light in the dark night.

" Exciting night wasn't it Hanagaki?" Lila asked

Takemichi nodded in response, keeping his eyes on the road.

" I've noticed your behavior started to changed once the couple entered into the palace, were they your ex-buddies as well?" Lila questioned.

" He was definitely not my friend!" Takemichi barked as his hands clenched the wheel.

" Sorry Hanagaki, didn't mean to strike a nerve." Lila said out of defense.

Takemichi took a deep sigh, " That man was Tetta Kisaki, he is the one that caused all of this. Tricking all of my friends, almost murdering me... he even took my girlfriend."

" The female next to him was your girlfriend?" Lila said out of shock.

" Yeah... she was. Not anymore." Takemichi accepted.

Silence was filled in the car for majority of the ride, until Minyan came in their ear pieces, " Hey guys, we might have a problem."

" What is it?" Takemichi asked.

" Remember when I joked around and said that Bonten was so pissed off that they might be planning to murder us?" Minyan reminded.

" Yes." Takemichi remembered

" Well, it looks like it's actually might happen, cause their following us!"

Takemichi and Lila looked at their rear view mirrors, black cars were seen right behind them. The cars caught up to them at each side, their windows rolled down; Baji, Kazutora, and Chifuyu on Takemichi's side, Sanzu and the Haitini brothers on the other. They carried their guns and shot it at their car, luckily the windows are bullet proof, but that doesn't mean they can't take damage.

Takemichi stepped on the pedal and sped off to lose their tail.

" Damn, so over dramatic for a necklace." Lila scoffed.
