A dancer dies twice.

Once, when they stop dancing and the other, when they stop breathing.

My gaze switched between the silhouettes that stood in the shadows as their leader presented me with two options:

Keep dancing for us or give it all up...

But I want to die only once, even if it means I'll have to dance to my grave.

"Made up your mind?" Their oldest questioned, taking a step forward, walking into the moonlight that lit up the dance studio.

"Why do I have to do this?" I stepped back as a reflex, gesturing for him to halt. I grew restless with my words, "Why me?"

"Because you'd rather die than give up your dancing." A smirk ran along his blank expression, his eyes tinting dark red, "So, will you dance... or give it up?"

"I'll never give it up." A staggered breath escaped my lips as I struggled to speak, "I'll... dance."
