Chapter 3
I took off my school clothes and put on my sweats and a baggy t- shirt that belonged to my uncle. I tied my hair up into a messy bun and slipped on some fuzzy socks. I bounced down the stairs and made my way to the kitchen.
“Oh, hey Aunt Catherine, you’re home early,” I said eyeing the box of pizza on the counter.
“Hello sweetie. Yea work was going pretty slow so they let me out early. I picked up some food on the way home. How was your first day?”
“It was great! Totally not what I expected, I made some friends already too.”
I grabbed a plate and took two slices of pizza; the cheese was stretching out with how cheesy it was. My mouth watered, and I licked my lips hungrily.
“Oh that’s good; see there was nothing to worry about!”
I rolled my eyes, what a typical thing to say!
“Anyways, we need to go to the pack house today. The Alpha wants to meet all of us and discuss when we are joining the pack.” she said
“Oh that’s great, when will Uncle Paul be home?”
“He’ll be here in about an hour so we’ll leave around then.” she replied, taking a seat next to me and grabbing some pizza for herself.
“Okay”
I finished my pizza and went upstairs to get dressed.
We finally arrived at the pack house. To say it was huge would be an understatement. We stepped onto a marble pathway that led to a set of gold doors. Looking at the house I realized that it was three stories! Three freaking stories!
I guess I shouldn’t be that surprised though, usually pack houses are huge. But I still couldn’t stop myself from staring at the house in awe. This pack house was bigger than the one in my old pack.
A wave of sadness hit me as I thought about my old pack, and all my friends I left behind. I quickly shook the thought away. This was no time to think about that. I looked up and blinked away the tears that were gathering in my eyes.
As I looked up towards the door, I realized there was a man standing there. He didn’t look too old, but you could notice the grey blending into his hair. He was wearing shiny leather shoes and a white button up shirt. I guess he was the Alpha.
We walked towards the alpha and he shook my uncle's hand.
“Hello Paul, Catherine, it’s nice to see you two again"“Hi Alpha John nice to see you again, it’s been a while" Uncle Paul replied
"Yes, hi Alpha” Aunt Catherine said shaking his hand.
Alpha John turned to me and offered me his hand to shake.
“Hi there, you must be Layla, nice to meet you"
“Yes, that’s me. It’s nice to meet you too,” I said shaking his hand.
"Please, come inside" said Alpha John.
We followed him inside and it was exactly what I expected. There was a giant chandelier hanging from the ceiling, and a swirly staircase heading towards the second floor. It was beautiful.
