December 15, 6:00 AM, Tuesday, Paris, France. Valentina Charlotte Lavigne wakes up in her bed in her apartment near the center of Paris. She tiredly stumbles out of bed and puts on a light purple cardigan sweater and a pair of white jeans. She walks to the bathroom and brushes her teeth, combs her brunette hair and ties it into a ponytail, and puts on her favorite coral lip gloss.
She walks to the kitchen where she sees her little sister, Emma Adrianne Lavigne and her brother, Alex Daniel Lavigne sitting at the table eating breakfast. Her mom walks up to her and kisses her cheek and says "Good morning Valentina, I made your favorite breakfast, Pain Au Chocolate with coffee!." "Thanks mom." Valentina replies and sits at the table munching on her chocolate croissant.
After Alex, Emma and Val are done eating they start getting ready to leave for school. "Put on your winter gear! It's snowing outside today!" Their mom shouts from the kitchen. Val throws on her coat and boots and runs out of the house saying "Bye mom!" as Val and her siblings run to the bus stop.
7:30 AM. Alex, Val and Emma arrive at Dupont-Blanchet High School. They all walk to their lockers which are right next to each other. " Emma!" Val hears a familiar voice calling from across the hall. It was the "Queen Bee '' Chloe Madison Kinsley and her "friend" Claire Autumn Kennedy. Chloe whipped her platinum blonde dyed hair behind her shoulders and said to Emma "Hey girl! There you are! Me and Claire were looking everywhere for you-!" Chloe said in her obnoxiously high pitched voice, "Hey Alex..." Chloe said. 'Ugh. This plastic doll has no chance with Alex so why does she even try.' Val thought to herself. "Erm, hey... Chloe, right?" Alex asked, confused. "Heyyyyy Chloe!" Val said ,she knew Chloe couldn't pick on her when Alex was around, otherwise she would have NO CHANCE of getting with him. "Hey Val!" Chloe said with a clearly forced smile, "How you been!" "Good! Thanks for asking! You know it's not normal that you act this nice to me!" Val said with a smirk.
Alex looks at Val and then looks at Chloe confused. "What do you mean, not normal that you act nice" Alex said to Chloe. Chloe said nothing but laughed nervously. *bell rings* "Well, um I think we should be getting to class now, so bye I guess?" Alex says while walking away slowly and then walks, faster and faster every second to get away from the nonsense. "Bye Alex!" Chloe said with a fake smile on her face and then turns to Val and says "You better not ruin my chances with Alex you idiot, or I'll ruin your life!" She angrily whispers to Val. Val smirks in Chloe's face and then replied with a "Umm ill think about it " before turning around and walking to class. "Hmph!" Chloe exclaims before turning around and dragging Claire and Emma with her.
