The Shadows of Underground World: The Uninvited Guest

CHAPTER 2

Thud! He fell hard on me. I groaned in pain as I pushed him away and tried to think straight. Where did he come from? What should I do next?

But the answer to it was easy. He opened his eyes and saw my face with my uniform too. I was careless, I removed the hood despite being outside the camp. I had no choice but to kill him.

I quickly raised my sword and stated, 'Under the name of justice, in order to protect the world, we need 'The Shadows' and for that they must remain anonymous. Since you have seen the face of shadow, you shall be beheaded.'

He didn't resist or move; he was just staring at me, totally confused. I couldn't tell that he was more scared of the surroundings or my sword. 

'I don't have time for this,' I shook my head.

But my hands didn't move. What was his fault in it? Should he die just because of my mistake? If I don't kill him the Shadows will do it. It didn't feel justified to me as more thoughts clouded my mind. Meanwhile, he was just looking at the ceiling above us.

There was no house near anywhere due to the incident that happened five years ago. As soon as I realized my eyes popped out. Don't tell me! He came from the upper world. 

There was no way he could come here without me noticing him. Soon the rage filled inside me, I finally saw the monster who destroyed our world. I had to kill him no matter what, but still I hesitated.

He didn't look like he meant any harm, perhaps it was a trap. There were more of them waiting somewhere.

'Who are you?' I asked.

Before he could speak a word, I heard the footsteps. My team has come for me, they can't know about him. They will slash him without a second thought, and I can't let him die until I get my answers.

I hit him on the back of his neck, and he fell down unconscious. I put my hood back on and my guess was right. They were here, the two subordinates. 

Both of them dressed in the black robes and swords in their hands. They both looked at the boy and then looked at me, waiting for an explanation.

'I found him lying here,' 'He must have been lost, we must take him to the hospital.'

They immediately picked him up and we took off. I will interrogate him after he wakes up and if it comes to it, I have to kill him. The last time people came from upper world, they brought nothing but destruction.
