Beginning of chapter 4- The Grand War
After the War of Expansion ended the Union of the Star began looking outside it's dimension and towards others, mainly to see what was going on outside its dimension. The military had been reorganized, creating divisions, which each division consistent of a million destroyer's and 50 units, each division had an admiral at it's head, there were 6 division at this time, Aidan and The Shooting Star were put in division one. The nation would be given rank 50th strongest nation among all nation's, the Dark Star Empire was currently ranked 1.
The Union of the Star would come across a dimension that only had one planet that could be habitable, but only had planets and animals. They would call the planet, planet A2NT630 since the government didn't want to name it but let the people name it when people begin to habit it. The Union of the Star sent a few units of division 1 which included Aidan's unit to survey the planet to see why it doesn't have any human life on it. They would find out the planet is only 60 years old, only 30 years older then Aidan. It was decided to wait for a while till they could figure out how exactly the planet would do by itself before allowing it's own people come and create a new nation on it since the Union of the Star didn't want to control a territory outside it's dimension. The Dark Star Empire would use this as justification of war and a place to launch it's attack.
"What's the status on planet A2NT630 Captain Aidan." Admiral Omar of division 1 said to Aidan. "Nothing has happened, we've gotten no readings of new life nor any environmental changes." Aidan responded with. "Alright, keep a lookout for any changes to the planet, I will report back in 10 days." Admiral Omar told Aidan. "Alright, I will keep che-." Aidan would be interrupted when an alarm began to go off. "What is that alarm." Aidan would say to the crew. "Aidan, what's going on, why is an alarm going off there." Admiral Omar said. "We got a large energy signature heading our way, along with an unknown amount of destroyers." One of the crew members said. "Get me in contact with them." Aidan responded with while walking to the comms. When comms were activated Aidan began to speak through the microphone. "This is Captain Aidan of the Shooting Star, identity yourselves immediately, or we will have to open fire." There was no response from the other side. "I repeat, we will open fire if you do not identify yourselves foreign vessels." "Begin going weapons red, we're not receiving a response." Aidan would say to his crew. Before they could begin getting weapons ready, a destroyer entered the dimension and fired an energy laser straight at the Union of the Star forces. The laser would hit destroyer 2576, destroying it immediately, the Shooting Star and nearby destroyers were shaken by this, Aidan was knocked down. Dark Star Empire destroyer began entering the dimension opening fire on the unprepared Union of the Star. Aidan got up and immediately ordered fire to be returned before yelling towards the Admiral comms. "ADMIRAL, WE ARE UNDER ATTACK, ENEMY FORCES ARE OPENING FIRE AND DESTROYER 2576 HAS BEEN DESTROYED BY AN ENERGY LASER, WE NEED BACKUP!" "Alright I will send backup and alert the council of the situation, a declaration of war will be issued once we find out who is attacking." Admiral Omar said to Aidan before shutting off comms.
Admiral Omar would immediately send more units towards the war. The council and Grand Commander were alerted of the situation but 10 minutes later they received a declaration of war from the Dark Star Empire. The council immediately declared war on the Empire and began ramping up it's military production and defense along with issuing code red for the nation. Codes were used to tell military personnel of what's going on, code red was that a war has broken out between the Union of the Star and another nation, there were a variety of codes used by the government. The public became aware of the war and soon military enlistment ramped up a bit.
Few days later, Aidan's forces received the backup units to assist it with the war against the Dark Star Empire. Aidan's forces were already hammered down by the empire's forces. Aidan ordered for a repair station be set up on the planet so destroyers that could escape from being destroyed could be repaired and brought back. The Dark Star Empire tried to send troops onto the planet but kept bring them back after finding no one in the areas they sent to. A few days later and the repair stations were set up allowing destroyers to be repaired when damaged. Admiral Omar was in constant contact with Aidan while keeping the Union of the Star government updated of the war. Aidan made another request for reinforcements which was accepted by the admiral. The Emperor of the Dark Star Empire who was at the front lines and the government of the Union of the Star were both preparing for a long and costly war.
