The Only Side
H.I.A.

"Let us start easy shall we. Why don't you tell us about why you came here."
Well, I was doing things as I normally do. Going to class playing on my computer. The normal. That is what he told me to do. To act normal as if nothing happened. But over time I couldn't do it. My thoughts got ahold of me. It started to raise questions. People started to notice something was off and I couldn't tell them what. That is why I'm here to get it off my chest and to have some help.
"So how about now you tell us what you can't tell others."
Well, it happened over summer break. I knew how I had to spend it. With my asshole father. He is the leader of the Raven. A mafia connected to the mythical world. Sadly, he uses it for bad things. He abused the power which he held.
"And what was that so called power?"
He had a connection to the most powerful man who made the mythical world fear him. This summer was the first time I met him. I wish I hadn't.
"How about you start with what started this?"
Well, when we met, boy was it a shock who it actually was. I shocked them too. Guess you could say he and I knew each other. We met originally at school. We had a friendship growing. At least I thought we had a friendship until he showed up one night and told me the truth. Besides the point, I had gotten dropped off at my dad's office. I was waiting in the waiting room right in front of his office. It looked like a hallway with chairs, the walls were bare. When I sat down, I noticed someone was in his office. I noticed that he wasn't in there. He had a rule about no one being in his office when he isn't there. That way no one could steal from him. Not even I was aloud in his office without him in there. Ergo I went into his office to tell them, they can't be in there. But when I opened the door that's when I saw him. He slowly turned his head to face me and if a very creepy smile he said "Hello Ḧ̶̢̢̧̧̨̤̼̹̩͈̖͙̯̻͍̯̞̠̟͉̲̳̜̻͙̦͖̣̮̹̘͔̦̬̱̭̗͇̳́̍̂̐̎̽̉̇̋̃͗̔͛̅̏̋͋̿̍̄̕̕͜ö̶̧̡̜̺̲̼̣́̐̈́̽l̸̯̙̦̘̬͌̽̂̊͘͘ḑ̵̢̨̧̛̛̭͓̯̫̳̺̪̰̝̲͚̳̱̭̲̖̊̎͌̔́͌̄͒̃̓̆̌͋̓̓̏͊̌̽́̅͛̏͐̑̄͛̔͘͘̚̕͝͝ë̵̠͉̰̦͕̬̖̹̞̟́̓̔̅̾͒̔̃͆́̈̋̅̀̅̀̌̐̈́͆̓̈́͊̈́͒̀̌̂̑̃͛͗̍̃͆͋͘͘̚͝͠ṅ̸̛̻̳̖̳̪̤͓̤̪͕̣͔͓͇͕̝̜͋̋̑͊͛̽̅̑͊̇͆͋͆̚, How are you this fine evening?"
"Did he know your name?"
Yes, but his voice glitched out when he said it. It sounded so weird as if someone was talking with him in a deeper tone. It really creeped me out, and for a second I could have sworn his eyes were all white. But when I blinked, they were back to normal. He moved his head back facing the desk in front of him. "So, are you filling in for your father?" He asked. There was a moment when the room went cold.
"Did you ever answer him?"
Not at first, I just stared scared at of my mind. It felt like I was in a dream. But when he looked back at me, he got up out of the chair and walked over to me, which freaked me out. Then he looked me in the face and started laughing like crazy. "Ha ha ha you're totally freaked out. Ha ha how funny. I got you, didn't I?" That's when I thought it was a joke, so I broke and started laughing, too. "Ha ha you got me. What are you doing here anyway?" I asked. "Ha dude isn't it obvious? I'm meeting with the raven leader. How about you what are you doing here?"
"He was meeting with your father; do you know why they were meeting?"
Yes, but that's later. I told him that the person he was meeting was my father and I was staying with him for the summer. "Wait a moment." He stopped talking for a whole minute. That's when my father walked in. "Aw good you've met. Holden step out for a moment will you." So, I did but, it sounded like I was still in the room. That's how loud they were. They sounded like they were arguing. The surprising thing was no one had ever argued with my father.
"Do you know what they were arguing about?"
Word for word that's how loud they were. "GOD FUCKING DAMNIT YOU NEVER TOLD ME I WOULD BE WORKING WITH THE SAME SON; YOU TOLD ME TO WATCH OVER. YOUR DUMBASS HOW CAN I WATCH OVER SOMEONE WHO IS GOING TO GET ME KILLED? HUH TELL ME HOW, OH WAIT YOU CAN'T. SO, EITHER THE MISSION HAS CHANGED OR YOUR MAKING ME TRIAN YOUR SON." He yelled, and my dad yelled back. "LOOK YOU KNEW BEFORE HAD YOU WOULD HAVE TO TRAIN HIM. WHAT'S BETTER THAN THIS. YOU HAVE A WHOLE FUCKING SUMMER TO TRAIN HIM. NO SCHOOL OR OTHER TRIBEAL STUFF."
"Sounded like they were arguing over you."
They were, because when they called me in this is what they explained. "Son met your training and partner for the summer," He sighed and moved his head down almost disappointed, "Toby. You will do what he says and if there is any problem, he has the right to teach you a lesson. WITH in reason. Toby, please tell me you're listening." He looked at my friend.
"So, you spent the summer training?"
Yes, and it was fun. We spent the time train to fight, kill, learning about different creatures and their weakness. Though the strangest lesson was when we started learning Greman. I still have no idea why we learned it, but it was still fun.
"So, what happened to make you come here?"
