Only one guardian noticed Lily and Duncan sneak out through the side entrance. He just happened to be in the right place at the right time. "Stop right there." he commanded, raising his hand.

"We surrender." Lily said, holding up her arms. "We'll come willingly."

        "We will?" Duncan asked.

Lily turned to him. "Yes, we will." She gave him a quick wink. Distract him, she said in his mind.

Duncan looked back at the guardian wide-eyed. His mind ran through ideas of how he could do it. He wondered if he should just start screaming his head off.

That was a terrible idea. What if the others heard him and came running? Lily decided to lend him some help. With a twitch of her finger, Duncan stumbled.

The guardian lowered his arm just a bit, but it was enough for Lily to move forward, close enough that he couldn't blast her. She grabbed his face between her hands and forced him to look into her eyes. "We aren't the witches you are looking for. You saw them take a car and drive south."

        "South," the man repeated.

Lily helped Duncan to his feet, she apologized for tripping him. He brushed his dirty hands across his thighs, leaving dark stains on his jeans. "I'm good." he said. As they ran to the blue Prius down the block, he laughed. "That was just like Obi Wan Kenobi, in Episode IV."

Lily got in on the passenger side, shaking her head. "How did I ever think you were cool?"

Duncan looked over at her and smiled. "Baby, I'm the definition of cool."

"Yeah, sure." Lily nodded. "Just drive."

Thinking back on Duncan's memories, Lily was able to navigate them to the road overlooking the Order's headquarters. "Stop the car!" Lily demanded when she recognized their surroundings. She didn't want to get too close.

Duncan pulled over to the side of the road; they got out to look down at the sprawling compound. It had grown considerably since the time in Duncan's memory. The tallest building still stood at the center, only it was sleeker and more modern - all glass and steel - than the original structure. The broken down, blackened remnants of the original wall that once surrounded the compound was still visible in some places. Beyond it, new buildings had been erected. There was a large field off to one side where she could see tiny people, no larger than dots, moving swiftly, dueling each other.

In order to take a better look around, Lily came up with a spell to do just that. "Magnify my vision. Give my eyes precision. Allow me the decision, to let my eyes zoom in." With the words said, she could see everything that was happening on the ground below, as if she were standing right there. It was kind of freaky.

The first time she spotted a warlock, she jumped, stepping back into Duncan. He massaged her shoulders to help her relax, reminding her that they couldn't see her.

"I don't see any way in or out, except the front gate where half a dozen warlocks are armed with machine guns. Which, if you ask me, seems like serious overkill, given their powers."

"Maybe they aren't warlocks yet." Duncan suggested.

        "What do you mean?"
