"He's totally checking you out," Maddy remarked, nodding toward the same curly-hair who had been practically staring at you all night. He had a baseball cap on and black sunglasses, like he was some undercover cop or something.
"He's totally stalking me," you said back, a disgusted look on your face. You turned back to your best friend. "I'm gonna get going, k?" you say.
Maddy pouted. "Aw, come on," she said. "One guy looks at you, and you get the creeps and bolt?"
You rolled your eyes. "I'm just tired," you lied. Maddy shrugged. "Fine," she said. "Just don't complain when I take a chance and Curly suddenly becomes mine."
You walked out of the party, feeling the need for fresh air anyways. Those kinds of parties were always too stuffy and hot for you anyways. Loud, too- talkwise. You loved the music.
"You dropped this," an accented voice said from behind you. You turned around to face the same curly hair guy you saw inside the party. He held out your keys out to you.
You took them hesitantly. "Thanks," you said, starting to walk away, but his voice stopped again.
"Hey, it's a- it's a bit late to be walking these streets alone. I could walk you home if you want."
"No thanks!" you shouted. You needed to go. This dude was being creepy enough when he kept staring at you at the party. Now offering to walk you home? Does this guy know what year it is?
You hurried down the streets to your apartment and made sure your door was securely locked, as well as your windows and even your lose vents got new screws inserted.
You plopped yourself on the couch. It was late. Too late. You knew you needed to get to sleep if you wanted to get your paycheck this week, but some strange thought that gave you chills wouldn't leave your mind.
The curly haired stalker who gave you your keys back that night? Sure, he seemed polite and all giving them back, but you knew for a fact that you never once dropped your keys when you left.
hey! sorry this chapter was short, although it was more of a prologue except for the fact that the next chapter takes place right after this....
