It's been a few days since Jason's passing, and there have been no real updates on what happened to him. I've been doing a lot of thinking, though, and I'm not sure if I'm just being paranoid or not.

In my last entry, I mentioned there was an incident that landed Jason in jail, but I didn't elaborate on it much. I think it's finally time to come clean.

During my senior year of high school, Andrew, Clarissa, Jason, and I all knew this one girl named Emily Habersham. For me and Andrew, she was more of an acquaintance, but for Jason and Clarissa, they were pretty close. They had known her for a couple of years, and that was actually how I got to know her—through them.

Emily had always been a sweet girl and very athletic. She was well known for being an excellent basketball player at our school, and she had dreams of playing in college while studying to become a nurse practitioner. It was unfortunate that she was given hell from time to time by people at school for being ginger, but she never seemed to let that bother her. At least not outwardly.

It was also a shame that she would sometimes be the target of Clarissa and Jason's pranks. Typically, they weren't anything too crazy, but the last time they pulled a prank on her, it didn't go as planned. It, in fact, went terribly wrong.

On a random Tuesday night, after Emily came home from basketball practice, Clarissa and Jason decided to prank her by staging a fake break-in.

Since they were extremely close at the time, they knew what Emily's schedule was as well as had a rough idea of when her family wasn't around because of work. That gave them the perfect opportunity to pull this extremely cruel joke on her.

Well, when the break-in was thrown into full swing, Jason accidentally shot Emily through her hand and straight into her forehead, killing her instantly. Clarissa was the one who called the police, and Emily's memorial service was four days later.

When the investigation began, I was questioned by the police and told them that two weeks prior to the actual incident, I had been told by Clarissa that they were going to pull another prank on Emily. She didn't say what they were going to specifically do at the time.

I regret not saying anything sooner because, ever since then, I have blamed myself for Emily's death. Would she still be alive if I had just said something to her or her family? I'll never know.

What if all of this is revenge?
