I take a sip of punch and lean back on the table, letting the night air and chatter fill my ears.
On the stone dance floor I see Cal and Will hand in hand swaying to the music. I smile and whistle, making them turn my way, faces lighted by flickering lanterns.
They both smile sheepishly. I shake my head and chuckle waving them back to their dance.
My eyes catch on another couple.
Brown hair.
Turquoise eyes.
Black hair.
Brown eyes.
My lips twist into a grimace.
I finger my cup in distaste.
They are so close together, faces a hairs breath apart.
His hands slide down her arms and clasp her waist all while moving to the beat. He moves his face until his lips are on her ear and whisper into them.
Her mouth opens and she giggles.
A red blush creep up her cheeks and she shakes her head no. He urges her, pouting his lips and moving them closer to hers.
She looks away flustered and shrugs.
As if feeling my stare our gazes lock. She looks away.
My eyes narrow.
He's way too close.
Her arms wrap around his torso and he fits his lips onto her neck.
I surge forward-furious when someone pulls me to the dance floor.

Green eyes stare back at me through thick lashes.

"Hey."

"June. Hey."

She presses her lips to mine. I taste something bitter. Something sweet. Feel a bottle press to my side.

I gotta stay high all the time to keep you off my mind.

"Want some?"

She grinds against me, her lips crashing into mine. I want to pull away but a glance towards Dan makes me reconsider.

It was hopeless anyways.

I wrap my arms around June and respond passionately. I glance at Kayla. She stares at me, brows creased. Is she...crying? Of course not. I can't see because Dan covers her face with his. I notice how she melts into him, fingers in his hair.
A fire burns in my chest.
But I can't deny the twist of my heart.
The disgust of what we've both just done.
