Rockys POV
Black, it surrounded me I was consumed by it. Its all I could see. The faint sound of walkers in the distance keeps me on edge. Adrenaline pumps through out my body as one approaches. With one swift turn and pull of a tigger my cross bow fires a arrow straight through its left eye. As I turn the corner I find my self standing in the door way of the adandoned school cafiteria. I make my way into the storage room. As I scan the room I realize there isnt much, but it will do. I know I don't have much time so I hastily pack the duffle bag with as much food as I can and flee. To my luck there aren't any more walkers on my way back. This was a typical night for me now. Things have changed since the apocalypse . You can't lay back and do jack shit anymore, if you want to survive you work simple as that. I was still a junior in high school when the virus broke out, one of the best times in a persons life taken from me with a snap of a finger. Luckily I've been able to survive for what is now I'm assuming about two years.
The only reason I've been able to survive in this sad excuse of a world for so long is because of my group. We consist of mostly eighteen year olds and one fifteen year old. The mother figure of the group is Erika. Her long brown curly hair compliments her olive skin and gray-ish eyes. Then there is Amanda. Shes fifteen and childish, but her humor lightens the mood and keeps us laughing. Her slick straight darkly colored brown hair flows to one side and her hazel eyes glow with innocents as she pets her dog Axle. Next there is Anna. Her brown shoulder length hair is pulled back into a lose ponytail. She has brown eyes and a look of hope drawn on her face. Lastly there is Breanna and Mary humorously opposite. Mary is the timid shy one, the one who has trouble sleeping at night. Her medium length hair looks extraordinarily dark and long on her small petite body. Breanna's hair is short and lightly brown colored with tight curls the bounce at the slightest movements. Her large brown eyes almost match her darkly toned skin.
As i head back to the camp where we are stationed I remember how hard it's going to be missing one of our most valuable killers. It was nice having some time alone, to think about things and what was coming next. I remembered seeing a small drug store and sheriff station that looked pretty well stocked. Every so often my train of thought would be interrupted by a walker, but was quickly ended at the hand of my cross bow. As I reached our clearing in the woods I stand behind a tree just to savory to solitude for little bit longer. Just as I turn to walk back I see a deer. The first thing that comes to mind is "tonight's diner." Not even realizing the walker that followed behind. By the time I saw the walker it had already scared the deer away. After I was done killing the one walker I turned to see twenty maybe even twenty five walkers that followed it. I took out as many as I could with my cross bow, but at this point I running out of arrows. "Fuck it!" I thought " I'll just set off my flare." I wasn't sure if they would be able too see it so I had to rely myself. I took my throwing knifes out the strap tightly fastened to my thigh and charged the closest one. I circled the pack and scanned for my next kill. Stabbing one right between the eyes I heard a faint but familiar barking in the distance, it was Axle. Finally back up was here. I could see Mary scaling a tree with a sniper rifle strapped on her back. Erika with her spiked bat and extra bag of arrows for me. Next to her was Amanda with an erie grin on her face and her fist clenching her rusty old sharpened pipe. I figured Anna had had stayed behind to keep a watch over Breanna as well as the camp. Once Erika had tossed me my arrows it was time to do some serious damage. We were lethal together. The flow of walkers was constant but was no problem for us working as a unit. As Mary shot, and Erika swung, and Amanda stabbed we soon cleared the area of all the vermin. With walker guts and blood spewed all over us I was just longing to get back and wash off. "Well that was easy." Amanda said radiating with arrogance. "Good practice" smirked Erika as she waited for Mary to descend from her post. They all teased and mocked each other on the way back to camp. I was silent still debating weather the sheriff station and store was worth looking at.
