*CRUNCH*

The bones snapped, the eyes of the poor deer glazed over as the squelching of blood could be heard. Blood seeped from the puncture wound which resided in the deers' neck, inflicted by a starving child. The little girl munched on the squishy flesh of the deer, her teeth sinking into its skin as she tore away at the delicious meat.

With her hunger now fulfilled, the little girl slowly stood from her seated position, gazing down at the mangled deer. Her eyes were depleted of sympathy as she swiftly turned from the gruesome sight, walking away from the mess she had made.

As the little girl walked through the woods, the soft breeze made her long, yellow raincoat blow lazily behind her. Her triangular hood sat calmly ontop of her head, casting a shadow over her neutral expression. Her short, messy, dark brown hair helped hide the coldness in her gaze as she scanned her surroundings, alert as always. The bare feet of the little girl stepped across the grassy forest floor, her bruised ankles and dirt-stained skin almost blending in with the muddy ground. The smell of iron radiated off of her blood-stained coat as she kept her gaze locked infront of her, focused on the present and only the present. She wanted to leave behind the horrors she had witnessed on that God forsaken submarine...and in that hellhole of a city. The sound of TV static still seemed to ring in her ears as her head grew slightly fuzzy, but her gaze remained cold and harsh as she walked swiftly through the wooded area.

As the little girl walked, her head perked up slightly at the sound of stern and muffled voices. Out of instinct, the little girl immediately ducked behind a bush, her knees digging into the muddy soil as she listened intently to the conversation of the individuals.

"Why do we always get the boring jobs? I'd much rather be inside threatening a D class than walking aimlessly around the damn woods."

The voice was muffled by a mask which the individual wore, making his words sound like radio static. The man seemed rather laid back and uninterested as he stretched his arms out infront of him, interlocking his fingers and stretching out his joints. The other gaurd seemed much more intense and alert as they gently smacked the back of the stretching soldier's head, commenting in an almost parental tone.

"Quit slacking off, dumbass. We gotta stay on high alert, you never know what kind of threats are present in these woods."

The stretching gaurd gave a playful scoff, folding his arms in a childish manner as he gave a cringe-worthy pout.

The little girl could care less what they were discussing about, she was more focused on the symbol attached to their tactical uniforms. An emblem she did not recognize was stitched onto their uniforms, displaying the term: S.C.P. The little girl tilted her head slightly to the left, her curiosity increasing as she studied the officers before her. Although she was quite curious on the purpose of these soldiers, she knew she couldn't stand around for long. She slowly began to back away from her hiding spot, her knees sliding across the muddy ground as she carefully began to make her escape. Unfortunately, her raincoat had accidently snagged on a small twig, causing the bush to shimmy from the disturbance. The rustle of the leaves immedaitly caught the attention of the gaurds as they swiftly turned their bodies in the direction of the noise, aiming their fire arms at the bush. The little girl flinched, her body going completely still as she froze with anxiety. Although her expression remained neutral, her eyes glistened with caution as she kept compelty silent.

"SHOW YOURSELF, OR WE WILL BE FORCED TO SHOOT!"

The little girl's breath hitched as her gaze slowly traveled to the ground, her mind processing the best options. If she were to try and run, she would surely be shot. If she were to fight back, she might get injured in the process. Sure, she would be able to reanimate after being killed, but she didn't want to waste a precious reset on these buffoons. After a moment of thought, she came up with he best possible solution: get caught. This defintely wasn't on her list of best ideas, but her other plans would have resulted in worse consequences.

The little girl slowly but surely stood from her hiding place, her knees wobbling slightly as she did so. Her arms hung by her sides as she glared at the two officers before her, who were a bit taken back by the sudden appearance of the child. The officers gave confused glances towards one another, their attentions still focused on the potential threat before them. One officer slowly approached the little girl while the other one hung back, contacting someone through the use of his walkie talkie.

"Are you lost, kid? What the hell are you doing out here?"

The officer had slightly lowered his gun to speak to the child, but he was still easily able to access it if needed to. The little girl did not verbally respond to his comment, she simply stared. Her ice cold glare seemed to pierce through his very soul as she stood there perfectly still, like a wax statue. The officer was clearly getting slightly uncomfortable from the unresponsive girl, giving occasional glances toward his partner.

"Command is saying to take the girl in, maybe she's an anomaly or something."

The other officer's voice was a bit stern as he spoke, causing the interrogating officer's body to tense up slightly. The officer gave a soft exhale, turning back to the little girl, who had not moved an inch. The officer placed his hand on the little girl's shoulder, immediately causing her to tense up. Her body reacted negatively to his touch as she quickly stumbled backward, her gaze growing colder as she hugged herself.

"Just sedate her, we need to get a move on."

The little girl narrowed her eyes at the comment, glaring daggers at the two soldier's. Suddenly, the little girl felt a sharp pain in her neck, the prick of a needle to be exact. The little girl's eyes slowly began to close, the world moving around her in slow motion as she felt her body go limp.

Then darkness.

The sound of TV static never seemed to fade, however. A haunting reminder, if you will.
