11- Apologising

-I really don't want to talk with you right now.- Edd thought as he slid the message notification

The British stroked his cat
-Yeah it may be childish that I treat him just like that because his feelings but... What else am I supposed to do? He, himself said he was uncomfortable with all of this and won't shut up about it everytime I do something nice for him, it was so annoying...-

-Come on! Reply!- Eduardo exclaimed in his living room, calling the attention of Mark

-Who are you messaging? Did you think a lot about what I told you yet?- He smirked.

-Maybe... But it's not what you think. I simply thought I was overreacting some stuff way a lot and I wanted to apologise.-

-APOLOGISE?! YOU?!-

-Don't be dramatic... I've done it few times already, it's not a big deal.-
The blonde started to laugh loudly

-Who are you?- He said between giggles

The Hispanic gave him a death stare and kept looking at his phone.

-Sorry, sorry. I just didn't think you would do that... Love really changes people isn't it?- Mark slightly mocked

-I'm apologising because I want to, he did nothing.-

-So what are things between you two gonna be now?-

Eduardo looked back at his phone for a long while.

-Friends of course.-

The blonde sighed
-Okay, do whatever you want to.-

The Hispanic stared at Mark and saw him leave. He thought about Edd, his face, his smile, his hair and specially his patient attitude towards him even by how he used to act all those long years.
Eduardo looked at the phone again but Edd still wouldn't reply, a feeling similar to the first days of the deal was coming back to him, but this time it wasn't boredom, it was sadness.

He expected that nobody would know about his sexuality, well, he wasn't expecting to be gay in first place. But his close friend realised and he even kissed a guy.
Everyone will have to know some day isn't it?
Maybe he just needed to accept that and relax, all the times  he tried hiding himself, he just ended up getting exposed after all, but not just that. For his own insecurity, he ended up emotionally affecting Edd.

Although he didn't want a romantic relationship with him, he still loved him and remembering the moment where he saw his neighbour erase his smile or  when Mark explained all what was going on to him was something that made him so guilty and crushed.

Yeah, for Eduardo, their love was something that was never destined to happen, but that was no excuse to make Edd feel that way. He didn't deserve it after making him feel so special like nobody ever did before, even if other people tried hard in doing so.

Two days went by and the British never answered. The Hispanic frowned about to type something until a thought crossed his mind, so he got ready to go outside.

Edd was drawing peacefully until he heard knocks
-Probably Matt and Tom came back already-
He thought. Edd opened the door, but instead his friends he found his neighbour.

-Oh... Good afternoon!- The British greeted awkwardly

-Can I come in?-

-Uhhh...- he avoided the question, making Eduardo sigh

-I understand... I simply wanted to apologise. I acted more defensive than I should had and I know that annoyed you because... Well...
But then I realised that I was the one that started all of this in first place with... You know...
