Downhill

Chapter 1

Amelia's POV -"Guys, hurry up!, we're going to be late!", I yelled, rubbing my forehead stressfully. Right now, my best friends and I are rushing to see the sunset and you might be thinking ' just for a damn sunset?'. Well you see, the meaning of sunsets to us is that it's a fresh start of our new lives and happiness so every time we go, it brings us to that. If that makes sense. I checked my watch and frowned ,it's 6:59. WHERE DID THE TIME GO?! Just a minute ago, it was 6:00! *sighs*
Since my friends are still rushing  to get ready, they don't pay attention to the time. I mean, who doesn't? I must tell them, that we are already late to see the beautiful nature, this is the second time we miss it! As I'm heading to my two girl best friends shared room, I see Stella and Luna scrambling out of their room, with there shoes in hand, along with some shades and boy, they look like they ran a marathon! They spotted me and ran up to me and began yelling frantically. "MELIA, WHY ARE YOU JUST STANDING THERE, LET"S GO!", they said in  union. Before they could continue, I cut them off," Guy's, there's no point in going now..look at the time",I say, showing them my watch. Stella, starred at me with wide eyes, while Luna was about to cry. "Did we really take that long?", Stella questioned to me. "You girls, always take, like, what? , 5 hours to get ready ?", replies, a deep voice from behind. I turn around to see who it is and its Dexter, standing there with an amused expression plastered on his face. Dexter is also one of my best friends since childhood and by the time we all turned 18, we convinced our parents to let us; our friend group to live all together. As long as we don't ' mack" on each other,we all are good. "Who even cares? It's just a sky, with different shades!", exclaims Avery coming out out his room; who's also our roommate/best friend. Me and the girls all look at each other with narrowed eyes and turn back to look at him with an irritated expression. Dexter, who stayed quite the whole time since he spoke, saw our different mood, and began to back  up. "Just a sunset?, how many times have we been over this, Avery?!", call out Luna, who's also been quite the entire time. Me and the others except Avery have shocked expressions since that's the first time we ever heard Luna get mad. Of course she gets all irritated but not like this. Avery scoffs and ignores her, walking past Luna, making sure he hits her shoulder on the way out. Stella gasps while I slap a hand over my mouth. Yeah, yeah call us dramatic. Before he could go any further, Luna aims one of  her shoes and throws it at Avery's head. Since his back is facing us, he doesn't know what's coming and before it could impact him, a body jumps in front of the shoe. We all looked to see who it was and saw Dante, wincing from the pain. That makes Avery, turn around and see what the commotion is all about. " HA-HA, bro you shouldn't have done that, you know"says a grinning Stella, coming up close to check up on Dante. " Ugh, I don't even know why I do it, it's not like I'm getting payed to be his bodyguard". We all looked at each other before bursted out laughing, except for Dexter, who ran away from the scene and Avery, who has a bored expression on his face but his eyes are telling a different story. He shakes his head to stop himself from joining the commotion and walks away but not before Luna tags along with him, probably to give him a lecture. I raised my eyebrows at the two, but they ignored it and began to walk away, probably heading towards Avery's room since Luna wants to lecture him. What a afternoon!
